Updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 6, all pretty smooth really BUT....
Visual Voicemail isn't working. I'm on O2 in the UK. Anyone else having the same problem or found a fix?

I'm also having this issue on AT&T in the US. Just upgraded last night, and vm is connecting as a phone call.
Hi Tim,
This morning I 'reset network settings' (twice!) & switched the phone off & on again. This didn't fix it instantly, but a couple of hours later I noticed visual voicemail was working again.
That did it! I guess the second time's actually the charm. Thanks so much!
I have the Iphone 5 and have the same problem. I tried the reset but i Dont know what amp is?
please help explain if you can i have not having it..
Thanks
'amp' is just some weird typo/glitch in the forum I'm afraid! Just reset network network settings (twice) and turn phone off and on. (Maybe try a soft reset too)
Ironic my name is Donovan
I have tried it all and nothing is working.
Thanks Anyway
Hey guys. Just got an iPhone 5 on Friday and I was having the same troubles with voicemail dialing a number instead of using visual voicemail. The fix for me was that when it dialed the vm I had to re-setup my voicemail password and greeting. After I finished doing that about a minute later my phone popped up with a notification asking for my new password. I put it in and then visual voicemail was working. Hope this helps!
Setting a new password through the voicemail system got VMM working for me too. I didn't have to mess with greeting; just change password. Moments later, the phone prompted me that my password was incorrect and I typed the new pass in and it was activated.
I've searched to see if others have problems using voicemail with O2 and came across this section. I have an iPhone 5 and a monthly O2 contract. Voicemail never has worked properly since I got the phone last year. Before that I had the iPhone 4 and had similar issues but not so frequent. I have tried all the usual things of resetting, hard resetting, full restore, switching it off then on again, changing the password, network reset, you name it all have been tried, including taking the SIM out and cleaning it. The issue still prevails. The longest I have had is 7 days for a voicemail message to appear. Mostly I do not know there are any unless I dial 901 to access voicemail.
I have rung O2 and initially with two calls two very unhelpful results. Never come across the problem said one - despite what you read if you Google the problem! One suggested I put the iPhone 5 SIM card in my iPhone 4 (my wife now uses it) and when I pointed out it would not fit the person at the other end at O2 seemed somewhat nonplussed.
Ultimately I made a formal complaint to O2; I got a response and the matter was treated seriously. Eventually I was told it may be a network problem. That was a month or so ago. Nothing further has happened. I still do not get visual voicemail messages even if I am in the middle of a City, say Newcastle, with high signal strength. Very occasionally but not always if I do a hard reset of the phone the messages suddenly come in but no more thereafter or if they do arrive it is days after.
I have suggested to O2 the phone may be at fault, it seems others have similar issues. Any more suggestions from readers as I have tried all those you read here? I cannot see it as beng a network problem if it does not work in the middle of big City.

I have the same issue, I have just contacted O2 Guru online who tells me the issue is because of the type of internet bolt on there is a few different types so they have changed the bolt on and assures me the visual voicemail will be working from tomorrow after 24 hours. We will see Il report back.
I'm pay Monthly and using the Iphone 5, previously using the iPhone 4s
😝
I can now confirm that visual voicemail is working its O2 who need to turn it on at there end for all pay monthly customers it depends what bolt on you have which makes it work. I must have had a different kind of bolt on cause the advisor said he changed the type
Of bolt on I had and 24 hours later its working again. Nothing to do with settings on the phone it's to do with O2 direct
Thanks
Gary
