Apple's map is not working at all. I want my google map back!

Give me Google map. Apple map is useless as I'm using public transports. 😟

No going back to the days of steve jobs who made software that worked. It just worked.

And thats why apple became great. I cannot find the words to describe how bad apple maps are. The vision is gone and the credibility is gone. I own all the products apple produce and would rave to anybody who would listen as to how great the are. Many upgraded to apple as a result. Now i find after hoping that this release of the next iphone maybe maps would be better, battery wouldnt die after some use and the processor wouldnt lag so much. Well i have been sickened again and very possibly for the last time.

Me and my wife, we are based in UK.

We want to downgrade from iOS 6.0 to 5.1.1 on iPhone 4s. Seeing the upgrade button we updated it looking at the advertisement thinking it is better. Everything is nice an upgraded but for us, the Apple maps is no good at all.

We have to keep on moving from places to places by public transport, but it does not allow us to go on public transport, instead it asks us to download app for every city we want to go. Every time we need to check your search direction, we have to re-enter all the details. Where as Google map is best in this case, So, I want to downgrade from iOS 6.0 only to use google maps.

If We can't use google map, the iphone is useless to us. We love apple and its product and never got disappointed before. It looks like Apple is forcing us to use Apple Map whether it is good or not.

I believe like previous iOS Apple must first develop the Apple Map before lunching it, Apple must give us choice whether to use Apple or Google ' s Map.

You won't believe me our friends use Android mobiles and they make fun of us because of this mistake that Apple has made in its map. We have always loved Apple then Android but Apple, this time has let us down.

So, I request you to help us by letting us use google maps like previous iOS in iPhone 4S in iOS 6.0 or guide us how to downgrade from iOS 6.0 to 5.1.1.

I also live in China and just posted the same problem. For someone who travels frequently and relied heavily on Google's map app, this is a blow below the belt. Blackout the rest of the world?!! I mean, wow, so this is what they mean by catering more to the Chinese market? Yeah, the Chinese I know want to make sure only their country is shown. There is no world outside of China, and if there is, it's nothingness. Kind of like, oh, 500 years ago. Oh, and China consists of Taiwan, all islands in the South China Sea, and all so-called "disputed" regions next to India. At least Google had the decency to show those disputed regions with dotted lines rather than solid boundaries, as a matter of simple diplomacy.

Somebody at Apple is getting some pretty sweet benefits on those trips to Beijing.

Ok for streetview stuff but I found that the location services doesn't work.

Be patient. Google Maps is in the process of being approved. It will be availabe on the AppStore soon.

2. MapQuest (uses OpenStreetMap)

3. Maps+ (uses google maps data)

4. maps.google.com (bookmarked on your home page)

5. Bing Maps

6. Yahoo Maps

Yeah, there a lot of alternatives out there--and thanks for pointing these things out. Galileo is another one.

I know for me, and probably for most people who often used the old Google Maps, the real issue is that when you upgrade a piece of software (iOS, in this case), the software should equal or exceed the previous version in terms of functionality. It would be one thing if the new Maps wasn't much better than Google Maps, or even just had a different feature set. The fact that it is, in fact, so much worse, when people thought they were upgrading, that's the part that doesn't make sense.

I am based in India and travel quite frequently in Asia. This new Maps is horrible for India, Singapore, Malaysia and China. I used it a lot for moving around, finding places. Now it just *****.

Apple has only one of the two options - get back Google Maps or improve the Maps to the level of Goggle Maps.

This just points out Apple arrogant stance with respect to users. This will not help them in the future. I and others will think twice before buying Apple.

Now have moved back to Google Maps on Safari. Other alternatives are just not good.

Exactly! All the apps on an "upgrade" should be one step better than the one before, by definition, that's what an upgrade is. Apps should never be deleted without warning (YouTube). People clicked on the upgrade because apple has become known for quality and their longtime customers trust their products, and have been rewarded with these nasty surprises.

IMO, the only way to get our trust back is to quickly offer a "downgrade" to the old os for anyone who wants it. Then I would be back to recommending their products. Apple, is anyone listening out there?

I'm not sure why everyone is ******** around. Google Maps will be available on the AppStore soon then you can have what you used to have. You just have to be patient.

Apple Maps does not use Googles data nor will it ever use it in the future. The partnership and licensing didn't work out between the two companies. I didn't expect it to. Lets face it, google was not implementing the same features that were being implemented on the Android side. They purposely left the development of Maps slide and let it lag behind. What would you have done if you were in Apples place? Let Maps fall behind further and further or do something about it?

I'm looking forward to Apple Maps in which Apple is free to develop it, grow it, and enhance it, and not have to pay license fees to Google who is ever controlling with their data that they are collecting.

There are Apps out there that still uses Google maps data like Maps+. Give it a try.

We are waiting on googles app but it won't be same since it's not tied into the os. Right now I have 2 iPhones one with iOS 5 and the new one with 6. The public transport worked so flawlessly in the older one and street view actually comes in handy unlike flyover which is just eye candy. I do agree that google was holding back on apple but even the hobbled maps we had is better than the one we have now. I just don't see how apple could get ahead of them in this field. Especially once they get those automated cars out there constantly updating maps. Although if you do drive instead of transit and live in the US than the turn by turn might be a good reason to upgrade.

which is really the only place for getting attention for bugs

in any Apple app, including Maps. Maps won't be properly

fixed unless they are told what ALL the problems are.

I agree. The Apple map app is more like a Microsoft rollout- just barely good enough to function sometimes. Maybe. It's the worst work I've seen from Apple in years. The workaround for public transport *****. I can't wait for a Google map app.
