I using a iphone 4S with iOS 6 final release. If I try to find my music in spotlight, i get no results. Nothing. If I search by music app search field, i can search by album, artist and list, but not by song. It's a bug? Two days ago with iOS 5.1.1 works perfecly.

I'm having the exact same issue.

The following steps solved my problem:

    - I deleted any radio link in my itunes library.

    - I completed the genre for all my itunes songs.

    Good luck!

This didn't work for me, unfortuantely. Having the exact same problem with an iPhone 4S and the same OS.

Settings-general-spotlight search-music has a check mark by it?

    Yes indeed.

    Don't steal other people's threads.

I would love to hear the logic you can come up with that would make having the exact same issue, with the exact same hardware and specifications as the OP, a 'thread theft'. Especially seeing as how the issue has been unresolved.

I found myselft this morning having the same issue. Having read a couple of things around the Internet I tried doing a large change to my music library (remove half of it, sync, add it all back and sync again) which helped partially - some of the stuff shows up but in a weird and incomplete way - see below.

Also some albums still do not show in the results at all.

    Please can anyone help?

    Thanks

PS Oh and just in case - don't you dare stealing my theards and stuff, m'kay??

    Hi,

I had the exact same issue. I restored twice no good ! I even went to the apple store and they did a system restore, still the same issue!

The only way I could get it to work is import no more than 1,000 songs at a time.

It's not the quickest way of doing things but it least it works.

    Maybe could help:

    - Backup your itunes folder or move it to other safe place (be careful, this folder contains all your iTunes data).

    - Launch iTunes to create a empty library.

    - Search your music in your old iTunes folder and drag your songs to iTunes app (you will re-import all your music). Check all your music have a genre, if not, set a default one, like 'Set later' for example.

    - Resync your iphone and check your music (check if appears in spotlight). If everything ok, drag the rest of your content (videos, books, ...) to iTunes app. If not, close iTunes, replace the new iTunes folder with the backup folder and relaunch iTunes.

    Please, Be careful

    Hi Neale,

What do you mean by imporgint no more than 10000 songs at a time? I actually have only 957 songs in my library and still get the crappy results (see 2 posts up).

    Any thoughts please?

I am having the same issue. Tried importing in batches of 400 and still presented the no result in search. I have restored this damned thing at least five times. Two if those to factory settings. No solution has been found by apple support. I am willing to hear other suggestions . :)

    Hi Fenarius,

Another idea that may help is if you go to your library and untick all your songs .

Then tick say 5 albums at a time I know this method worked for me.

    Good luck

Somehow adding a massive amount of songs in one sync prevents the device from indexing all of them. Here's an easy but slightly annoying fix that worked for me:

1.) Erased my library from my iPhone

2.) Sorted my library by artists

3.) Manually added artists one letter at a time. (I have about 8000 songs total so that came out to about 300 songs per sync)

Problem solved, for me at least. Hope it helps
