I can't search a song by title. No music results in spotlight.

I using a iphone 4S with iOS 6 final release. If I try to find my music in spotlight, i get no results. Nothing. If I search by music app search field, i can search by album, artist and list, but not by song. It's a bug? Two days ago with iOS 5.1.1 works perfecly.

I found myselft this morning having the same issue. Having read a couple of things around the Internet I tried doing a large change to my music library (remove half of it, sync, add it all back and sync again) which helped partially - some of the stuff shows up but in a weird and incomplete way - see below.

Also some albums still do not show in the results at all.

Please can anyone help?

Thanks 🙂

PS Oh and just in case - don't you dare stealing my theards and stuff, m'kay?? 😀

Maybe could help:

- Backup your itunes folder or move it to other safe place (be careful, this folder contains all your iTunes data).

- Launch iTunes to create a empty library.

- Search your music in your old iTunes folder and drag your songs to iTunes app (you will re-import all your music). Check all your music have a genre, if not, set a default one, like 'Set later' for example.

- Resync your iphone and check your music (check if appears in spotlight). If everything ok, drag the rest of your content (videos, books, ...) to iTunes app. If not, close iTunes, replace the new iTunes folder with the backup folder and relaunch iTunes.

Please, Be careful 😉

Somehow adding a massive amount of songs in one sync prevents the device from indexing all of them. Here's an easy but slightly annoying fix that worked for me:

1.) Erased my library from my iPhone

2.) Sorted my library by artists

3.) Manually added artists one letter at a time. (I have about 8000 songs total so that came out to about 300 songs per sync)

Problem solved, for me at least. Hope it helps 🙂

I am also suffering the same issue, and have read elsewhere that that large syncs may be the cause of the problem; the problem being that track titles are no being properly indexed. I will try unticking small portions of my library, syncing, then resyncing after reselecting the tracks, in the hope that this will resolve my problem.

IMO this is a ridiculous fix/workaround for the issue - there should be a simple re-index option, or re-indexing should happen automatically if DB corruption is detected.
