Ok to upgrade iPhone 4 to iOS6?
Should I wait to see if there are any issues or is it safe to upgrade now?

dont do it!! you will lose wifi capability
oh rite, i take it that you have already upgraded?
I know there are a lot of people on here that have had issues but I did it yesterday and I have had no problems or issues. I have an iphone 4S and it works just fine. The upgrade did not crash for everyone.
Losing Wi-Fi is serious. I'm also concerned about the new maps not being quite ready. Maybe it's good to wait to see if Apple can fix/address these issues with an update.

If you value the Maps app then the answer is a very loud & shouted NO!!!
My wifi is fine. Just Apple Maps is total rubbish and you lose YouTube as well.
I would downgrade if it was possible. Not worth it for ip4. Half the things don't work on it anyway. I should have read the small print!
It also takes 2.5 gig!
i know you carnt even have facetime over celluler on the iphone 4 whitch is a bit weird or 3d flyover
better wait like at least half a month before you really want to do this silly thing!

I've just downgraded back to its 5.1.1. Just uploading apps now so will see if it worked for me. If so I will post link on how to do it.
If you do upgrade make sure you back up to your computer so that you can downgrade again later.
Please do post how to do this, or a link to where you got the info (although I wonder if it will get through Apple's censors!)

What I did was :1. Make sure I was on itunes 10..6.3.25
2. Dowloaded 5.1.1 from the link
3. Connected my phone to itunes
4. Held the shift key down and then pressed 'update'
5. Found the 5.1.1 download and clicked open.
6. Then let it do its work.
7. I then had to restore my phone from the back up I made before I upgraded to 6. It offered icloud or computer and I chose computer.
8. just let it run - it then asked me for a new passcode and then went on to download all my apps/music/photos etc.
I am now back with google maps working as well as youtube. Everything is as it was
Hope this helps but don't blame me if you have problems - maybe I have been lucky.
