Problem with Unread messages with IOS 6

Hi All,

I am facing a weird issue with messages in IOS 6. After clicking on a message that is marked with a blue color solid circle, the message opens successfully and when I go back (to the list of messages) the blue color dot disappears for a while and reappers indicating that the message is still unread. This is causing my number of unread messages unchanged. Does any one of you face the same issue.

Also, some of my previous unread message contents are empty even though it shows me a preview of it in the messages list.

I, too, am having a problem with messages with the new iOS. When my screen is on and I'm actively using my phone, whether in or out of messages, everything works fine and messages notifies me of a new text message. However, when I lock my screen and am not using my phone, no vibration or sound occurs when I receive a text message, which leaves me checking my phone every couple minutes since it won't notify me.

I'm having the same problem with texts showing as unread. I click on the conversation and then click on back to go to the conversations and after about a second the texts go back to unread. It shows as 2 unread texts from my wife. I deleted 5 messages from the conversations, and the dot went away for a second and came right back and said two unread texts again! I had her send me a text and it went to 3 unread texts. Clicked into the conversation then back out and it went back down to 2 and the stupid blue dot came back! I've rebooted the phone and that doesn't help either.

After updating to iOS 6, clicking on a message received prior to update has a preview but when opened is blank.

All my messages are gone I think. It's a serious issue.

Hope Apple resolves it with a patch ASAP.

Another Imp thing I would like to point out - After comet ion of update to iOS 6

The message app got an "!" Mark in red. Does that mean something?

Yeah it is a very serious issue. Even I am concerned about my previous messages. I have a preview but the content is empty. I couldn't understand how comes Apple could come up with such faulty OS. I am utterly unsatisfied with this release. In a rush to outsmart it's rival it is letting it self down further more.

I have tried a hard reset (by press & holding all the keys) but it didn't work. The issue still persists.

Try turning off iMessage and then turn it on again. Maybe it is not registeing with the sevice as it should.

I have the same problem in messages with iPhone 4 and cannot fix it but i have also iphone 4s and there is nothing wrong.

i think apple must fix ios 6 bugs for iPhone 4.

I am having the same issue on the 4s, it keeps showing that i have a new text message on the badge icon but it wont go away. tried restoring and hard reset etc etc. nothing works.
