since i downloaded IOS 6 my e mail app not send or receive mails..

Try this.

Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off.

Set the date one year ahead. Try your email again.

If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try again.

iPad3 is just the same. Tried the time and date thing but just the same.

Think I may wait a while till I do the phones!

OK, got it working. Deleted all my email accounts and then re-created them. Seems to be working now...

I had this problem too. I backed everything up in iTunes, then I did a factory reset and then restored the configuration. That fixed it. If you have a complex mail configuration (which I did, which is why I didn't want to make notes on everything, delete, and re-enter the email info), that may be a better solution.

A restore was going to be my next step but I only have two email accounts so much easier to delete and er-create the mail accounts.

Mike thanks, my spinning - checking for mail message after 7 days has stopped and correctly updated itself.

I deleted then re-entered the account info again. For others, if you have this problem it took deleting all accounts, except iCloud, before the mail server was happy.

hello, i recently upgraded to IOS6 and my yahoo mail is not working.

I deleted my yahoo account and trying to setup the accounty again but it is not getting connected to Yahoo server!!!

please advise...

Are you getting any error messages?

Have you tried logging in to your account through a web browser, I had a message saying that the account needed verification. I logged in through a web browser and then set up the account on the phone.
