Sep 20, 2012 11:38 AM in response to B.Tsigovby TylerJL44,I was able to get siri to launch apps for me, but not all apps. For the apps I could not launch, I also received the response "You dont seem to have an app named.....". This is a change from before iOS 6 came out, where the response to a request to launch an app was something along the line of "I cannot open apps".
I was successful with Angry Birds and a few other apps, but there were several that would not work. The common theme with those that did not work was that they are not displayed in the settings app. I have noticed this for years that not all of my app downloads make it into this menu, but I never really looked into why, they always work so I figured it was simply due to the fact that those apps in the menu are configurable. For example, open your settings app and scroll down, you will see a bunch of apps that you have on your phone. For me, all of the apps that I could not launch were not in this list. I did not try them all, but several that were in this list launched without a problem.
B.Tsigov, I wonder if your issue is due not calling the app by the appropriate name. When I try to launch one of my apps, I call it exactly as it is displayed in the settings app. Give that a shot...
If anyone has a way to "name" your apps so siri knows what you are asking for, it would be very helpful. Thanks.
