iPad iTunes U App Issue (iOS 6)

Greetings All;

I've encountered an issue with the iPad (iPad 2) iTunes U app after the upgrade to iOS 6. After upgrading the iOS and the iTunes app, the graphics no longer appear...only a list of the content (see attache screen shot). Also, when the "Notable" tab is selected no content appears...only a blank page. On the other hand, when you select "Catagories", the content appears as expected. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any feedback would be appreciated. All the best...

Hi, Syd,

I see the same thing you do when viewing your site, though the Notable pane correctly shows the Core Resources, Training resources, etc. for me (3rd-gen iPad). Not knowing what it looked like before, though, I can't say that what you're seeing is an error. Other sites, such as Texas Education, look pretty much the same, so that might now be normal.

Regards.

Thanks for the feedback! One point of clarification: When you navigate to our site, do you see the "Tennessee's Electronic Learning Center" graphic? On my first generation iPad, I see the graphic (I've haven't done the iTunes App update on that machine at this point), but on my iPad 2, I only see the individual course icons.

Perhaps at this point it's an issue with the iPad 2 and the new iTunes App. This issue certainly isn't a "deal breaker". Thanks again for your response! All the best...

Greetings and thanks for the follow up! I did hear back from iTunes U Support and they have indeed identified a bug in the iTunes U App with iOS 6 that is causing the tag pages to display incorrectly. A fix will be fourthcoming in an update.

Syd,

I am brand new to this Apple world and have the pleasure of now supporting iPods here at school. I rec'd the email directing me towards the www.tnelc.org resource. Looks like good stuff and a great resource. However, my iPods with iOS6 will not play nice with iTunes U.

I am able to get to these resources with my Windows 7 machine but my iPods will not let me in to the iTunes U app. When I click on the link for the app nothing happens.When I try to register as a teacher it gets stuck on the profile page wanting my photo but not allowing me to upload it. It appears the upgrade to iOS6 has broken our iPods.

Based on google research over the last couple of days, which is how I found this thread, it appears we are not alone with iOS6 problems. Are we just waiting for an Apple patch / upgrade or is there something I can do to resolve this.

Thanks

Greetings Steve;

I apologize for the delay in responding to your post! I appreciate your interest in the resources available on the ELC site and I'm sorry that you're having a issue accessing the content. In iOS devices (iPad, iPod, iPhone) the iTunes U content is now accessible through a separate iTunes U App rather that though the iTunes Store. Do you have that App installed on your iPods? After installing that App, you should be able to access that iTunes U content through that App. I look forward to hearing from you! All the best...
