    I'm using iPhone 4 and itunes on windows 7
    well just go to services and right click on apple mobile device
    and then restart this service
    it worked for me......
    worth giving a try

    Ok, I have fixed the issue with the wifi syncing at least for me and I spent hours going through the motions. But, all you have to do at least for me is this.


    1. Plug in your IOS device into itunes.

    2. Go to your device under the options.

    3. Check sync with wify and apply.

    4. Uncheck sync with wif and apply.

    5. Unplug your device from your Computer

    6. Plug it back into a power source

    7. Start up Itunes.


    It may take a moment to see your device but, it has been working for me since. It really has othing do you with your router or system settins, it's inside Itunes and your device it's an easy fix but, took a long time to figure out. Hope it works for everyone and I have the Ipad mini and Windows 7 32 Bit.

    Plug the device into a power source, NOT a USB power source connected to your mac/PC but a regular wall plug outlet.

    This was causing a problem for me as well and I have read a few different articles on it.  The thing that worked best for me was to enable UPnP on my router, reboot the router and then restart iTunes.  I did not have to connect via USB and check/uncheck "Sync with Wifi" or uninstall/reinstall iTunes.  After about 15 minutes, both iphone devices were found and completed a sync.  Hope it helps.

    I have an Iphone 5 and I too was experiencing problems syncing over Wi-Fi, however I came across this article, and changed the proxy setting, and it fixed it for me.



    Hope it works for you too.

    I saw a suggestion on one of the many WiFi sync issues sites that I just did not want to try for the longest time.  The statement was to remove and "-" from your computer name.  I was not excited about this due to some scripting I had done in my home network with used the computer name for remote logins an such.


    Anyways I changed my computer name from Crazy-Eights to CrazyEights and WiFi sync on iOS 6.1 for iPhone 4 and iPad 4 seems to be much better.  I previously also had the problem on iPad 2.

    Thank you Nitin Vijay this worked instantly.  If you go into services and restart Apple mobile devices the sync will work again.

    By the way, I'm using iTunes on Windows 8 Pro. Now I can sync an iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) and an iPad 2 (iOS 5.1.1) over Wi-Fi

    One day I could wirelessly sync iPhone iOS 6 with iMac Mtn Lion, the next day I couldn't. This was after I deleted some songs and apps to leave more space on my iPhone.

    Some of the other suggestions like renewing lease, turn on home sharing and turning off firewall didn't make any difference.

    I set up a direct computer to iphone network by going to network icon in menu bar, and connected iPhone directly to the computer, not thru router. Then I was able to sync wirelessly.

    Restarted the iPhone and quit and relaunched iTunes.

    Reconnected to the wi-fi network thru the router, not the computer to iPhone network, and iTunes now "sees" the iPhone.

    Quit iTunes and relaunched twice, and connects to iPhone both times without problems.

    BTW, iPad using iOS 6 connected just fine to iTunes and never lost it's connection.

    Hi All,

    I have just updated my iPhone 5 to 6.1.2. And after trying all suggestion still can not see it in iTunes. I have updated iTunes as well. Can someone pl suggest what I might be missing.

    Try this:


    Open iTunes... Open the Terminal App... Copy and paste this into the Terminal App...


    sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder


    (type password if needed). See if that connects the the iPhone to iTunes.

    This has been an problem that Apple seeems to REFUSE to recognize.  Try calling them. They are all clueless about it and act as if they have never heard of it.  I told them to check out the forums, people are filled with frustration and that there are endless questions.  Ridiculous.  They seem to not want to recognize that there is something less than perfect about iTunes.


    One representative told me that it must be my router (NOT!) or that it has to be interferance or distance (I live in a one room studio, hardly.. my wireless is pretty strong for everything else)... then he proceeded to tell me it must be a microwave or cordless phone interfering... do I have either of those?  Really?  What year is this?  If I have a wireless set up, a Mac, three apple devices... I think I'm out of the rotary phone era.  Of course I have a cordless phone.  This doesn't explain why this wireless syncing worked once upon a time and now doesn't. 


    Really, Apple needs to keep their help staff informed.  It would save them and us a lot of time and frustration.  They have you doing all this complicated and fruitless stuff to fix something unfixable--- usually these are problems on the iTunes end.  I will hand it to the support staff... they are persistent.  And hard working.  Apple simply does not keep them in the Know. 


    I have read and tried so many of the suggestions... all this is Voo Doo as far as I'm concerned.  It works sometimes and not others.  I'm thinking of buying some herbs and doing a chant.  It would be about as effective.

    Yes, I just tried this and it worked!  Restarted devices.  Again.  For some reason this time it worked.  Last time, another solution worked.  There is no rhyme or reason... It's just a little dance I do with these things at this point... let me close my eyes... chose a suggestion from the forum randomly... it may or may not work.  If it works today, may not work tomorrow.  If it doesn't work today, just keep trying.  Getting tired of the unreliability of this wireless stuff... Apple truly doesn't have iTunes ready before they do these updates... that's what I think.

    My solution (not one I wanted but I gave up on anything else) was to switch to using iCloud. It was a painful transition but it has worked so far.
