Mail flags don't work in iOS 6
When I hit the flag button in iOS 6 Mail, I only get the "mark as unread" or "Cancel" buttons no "Flag" button. Any clue as to why or how to remedy?

I wonder if this feature is limited to iCloud accounts only? That would be very disappointing.
It used to work in iOS 5 for Exchange accounts, but now only iCloud accounts for some reason.
Now works on my work Exchange server but not in Gmail exchange server! Anticompetitive?!?!
Yeah, doesn't work on Gmail Exchange. Also doesn't work on my work account, Exchange 2003 though.
Me too, this is crazy - if Apple have an issue with Google why penalise the users? I found the flag very useful on my work account.
This iOS6 bug appears on your Gmail Exchange account if you don't have the domain and username set properly in account settings.
1) Go to Settings
2) Select Mail, Contacts and Calendars
3) Select the GMail account
4) Select the account at the top of the screen (your GMail address)
5) The Domain field should contain either Google or gmail.com
(google.com will not work)
6) The Username field should contain your whole email address
That worked great for my Gmail account.
I did have the domain filled in on my work Exchange account already, but doesn't allow for flags. It doesn't matter to me on that account, but just interesting.
Yeah this is specific to GMail accounts using Exchange. Annoyingly, Google's own setup instructions indicate you should leave the domain field blank: http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
Anyway if this helped, please flag as This solved my question 🙂
I have NO domain field?
That works perfectly if followed explicitly. You must use the entire email address as the user name including the @gmail.com
Unfortunately, the suggestion has NOT solved the problem with my Exchange gmail account. Putting in either Google or gmail.com in the domain space gives me an error message that my phone cannot connect to the exchange server to download the mail. And now all my mail needs to be downloaded all over again. Grrrr.
I cannot put gmail.com at the end of my email address. Because it's an Exchange account it has my business at the end.
Anyone else have any suggestions to get flags to work with Exchange gmail? Obviously, as my work account, I would really like to be able to flag messages and have those sync with Mail.app as well as online Google.
Thanks.
After some more trying, it now works by putting "google" into the domain field, not "Google" or "gmail.com."
Thanks for the tip.
Adding "google" in to what was a blank domain field, worked for me too. Thanks' folks.
See freediverx above. This is the answer. The mail system needs a domain.
Cheers,
Jim
Have to wait for Zimbra to provide an update before flags will work with its M$ exchange interface to iOS.
