Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment. Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore. I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password" (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues. My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.

It is really, really unbelievable Apple ignores this problem. Hundreds of problems were announced on the web and all of them are serious and unsolvable or very difficult to solve. In the Apple store they refuse to talk about it, and refuse to look at their own website. They point at firmware of the router. And my wifi problem is nót related to a router of third parties, I use only Apple hardware (Express and Extreme, problem seems to be connecting with Express).I really cannot believe their arrogancy concerning this major issue. Never doubted about Apple products, but now my trust in this company is seriously less.

Thanks Apple, for causing so many problems and not solving it and not giving any service at all.

That is very interesting!! Im not a tech wiz so Im at my own mercy, I do re start network on the ipad or ipod and I do unplug my router, so far those have worked but if I go out of my house with either of them and try to connect to a public wifi, I cant and then coming home I cant connect again so I have to do the restart re set crap all over again.. UGH APPLE GET your **** together.

Yeah, that'll get things fixed won't it. Just sit back and complain, and wait for someone to do something for you. God forbid you would read some the the excellent troubleshooting tips in this thread and try to help yourself. Nope, just tell Apple to get its **** together and wait.

I see the exact same problem.

I can't connect to a 2.4 GHz WPA2 wifi with my iPad Mini (iOS 6.0.2).

Connecting to 5 Ghz wifi seems to work fine, but no luck connecting to a 2.4 Ghz wifi.

Btw - all my other devices (iPhone 4S, Nexus 7, MacBook Pro) have no problems connecting to the same 2.4 GHz wifi.

This is ridiculous - hope that Apple will fix this issue asap.

In the end with my case I opened a ticket with Apple support, did a whole bunch of tests and could not get it to connect to any 2.4Ghz network, including the one at the local Apple store. Its been put into the local Apple Tech Service for repair/exchange (currently no stock available). In my case it would connect perfectly to any 5Ghz network and would not connect to any 2.4Ghz network. Most likely a hardware fault.

While I agree there are some things to try you seem to fail to acknowledge that Apple iOS 6 caused this issue. Also you apparently dont get it that the average user is not a technical network specialist and should not have to be because of Apples failures. The average users who got a new iDevice for Christmas expecting to turn it on and follow the simple setup to activate it SHOULD be able to do just that. You seem to blame the users for this Apple screw up. I am a technician and as such can do and am willing to do certain things to try and get connected or help friends in the same boat. What about the users who frequent coffee shops and other public hot spots? Are they suppose to order their coffee and ask to speak to the resident tech to make adjustments to their hotspot so this sh*tty iOS update can connect? Come on be realistic, and perhaps a little more cordial to the screwed Apple users with their new iDevices that dont "just work" as Apple devices used to do before the update.

Ios 6 is definitely a bug riddled fail on many things but mainly wifi. On mine I don't have problems connecting but on both my 2 access points I will return home from work and often the App Store and iTunes Store apps get stuck on loading. Safari and many other apps using net access continue to work but these two do not, also speedtest app will show zero on upload (download works) when this happens. Nothing will clear the issue other than a complete reboot of the device. This is a pain doing it most days when I return to my wifi network. Typically in the apple store this issue does not show up but I see similar behaviour at various hotspots. It's rubbish from apple and they must address. The only way to hurt them and make them do something is people boycotted their products for a few months but that's not going to happen. Pre ios 6 never really had any issues and the devices hardly ever needed a reboot but now it's virtually every day. It's as if some apps do some crap caching and authentication that glitches on the wifi for lack of a techie term! I love apples products but hate their software. They had to meddle dramatically with iTunes and ios and have ruined many things. Home sharing and wifi on the devices the two biggest fails.
