Q: Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I booked a call with Apple Support this morning and went through my issues with my Ipad Mini. They were unable to offer any more suggestions for steps I could take and very quietly agreed it must be something to do with my 2.4ghz antenna.  Long and short is that a new Ipad Mini is on the way and I will keep my fingers crossed.

Easy peasy call really and am happy with the support thus far.

I should have done this much earlier.

With my iphone 4s running IOS 6.0.1  I can not connect to any wifi  router over 3-4 meters range.

I have erased all settings and restore many times with no success .

Same problem for me. My iphone 5 worked fine before upgradig to 6.0.2. and now it never connects while my other Apple devices work great, whichever the network. Very good signal from the wifi, but no connection with my Iphone 5 after upgrading! Please fix it!

God Apple get yourselves sorted or I'm off to Android. It's ridiculous that on my iPhone 4S since updating to IOS 6 the wifi is appalling and won't stay connected for more than ten minutes. I'm trying to update Tomtom Western Europe which is nearly 2gb. I can't do it over wifi because your incompetence has broken it and your complete arrogance in imposing a 50mb limit on apps and updates means I can't do it over 3G even though I have an unlimited connection. This means I've got to fire up my computer, download via iTunes then sync which hasn't been done before with this iPhone so I've got to make sure I don't lose any of my data.

I am so sick of Apple's attitude towards its customers. They just don't seem to care.

Yes, wife's iPhone 4, ISO 6.0.1. 10 ft wifi range. Unfit for use after the update. 

I have an iPad 4 I am not updating (yet). Maybe later - but I plan to be prepared to switch to something else if it craps out.

For Christmas I bought my wife a Galaxy Note II. I'm waiting for it to come in.

iOS 6 is a disaster.

Well, I got a new Ipad Mini sent to me and it has the same issue. I upgraded to 6.0.2 again and nothing. Pretty frustrating really.

That to me really says there is a software issue with the OS ...

Mine Says its connecting but it never does it just keeps loading.... i kept it for a day and the next day i was surprised that it was still loading.. anybody knows any suggestions??

Today I have tested Samsung galaxy note.I wish I was done this test before I bought ipad 3.More than 5000 complaints about wifi and where is apple?they are ignoring their customers.because these customers bought everything which is marked by Apple sign.now they are showing how they respect us.thanks Apple dont worry Ipad Will be The last thing that I bought from Apple.

Not sure if it's any help but my iPad 3 recently just stopped connecting to my home wifi. Public and hotspots no problem and my iPhone 4S was connecting no problem. After trying numerous different resets, I found a post here saying that they just rebooted their router(mines a Netgear) Whadd'ya know, unplugged the router for 10 mins, plugged it back in and voila, reconnected no problem! iPad and iPhone both running IOS 6.0.1 and both are connected fine! Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best!?

• Try going to your modem configuration.
• Go to DHCP settings
• Change your "Ending DHCP Address"'s last two numbers to 99
• So it will be what ever that number is but with the last two digits as 99

It's good that you have found something that works for

you, unfortunately you may find that it is not a long term

solution.My iphone 4 has just started playing up again

after a period of semi stability ( not as good as pre ios 6)

my problem has been, that my wifi connection regularly

gets broken by which I mean when I get bumped off

I have to go to settings and re-check in to my wifi

connection, which is a bugger when watching video.

Often an app won't open until I've noticed wifi is off.

  Surely  apple should warn us that updating can

render our equipment useless at worst or impaired at

best.  this seems very shoddy to me and not at all in

the style which one has come to expect of American

tools/ products.     Letting the side down, What!

I was going nuts with this problem, but today I finally got a real explanation and a real solution from Apple.  On my third call with Apple support about this, the support guy asked me what the name of my wireless network was... I said "wireless".  He told me that iOS 6 introduced a new security feature that makes it FORGET generic network names like "wireless" when it goes to sleep.  After thinking about it, it makes sense as a security issue, but it really had me hating my iOS devices for a while.  Changing my SSID is a PITA, but I did it anyway, and now I have no WiFi connectivity issues at all.

I'm glad this fixed your issue but I am very suspicious that this is true. There is no mention of this anywhere in Apple documentation about iOS 6 and a quick Internet search doesn't show this solution. But we'll see soon enough if any other users report success when they try your solution.

Yes, I've never heard of that as being a feature in iOS 6 either.

The key part of this "solution" may be that changing your router SSID causes a restart of the router. A router restart often eliminates the cause of many WiFi problem (for a while anyway).

However, not using generic SSIDs (or passwords) is a good idea and is recommended as a security precaution.
