Q: Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

While your improvement in Speedtest results is good it may or may not have anything to due with the update. Keep running Speedtest to see if you get consistent results.

Regarding your general comments, I fail to see how posting factual information is criticism or pontificating.

Just upgraded my 4s and 3rd gen iPad.

Both connect to my WPA2 AES network with no issues and both are noticeably quicker

IOS 6.0.1 is being released now.

References addressing wifi issues and WPA2 secure networks.

Hopeful this may solve my issues.

You're late to the party. The last 16 posts have been about iOS 6.0.1.

Just upgraded to 6.0.1, then went to Starbucks.  Wifi is even worse than before. Kept disconnecting. Couldn't see the SSIDs. I couldn't even stay connected to my mobile Wifi hot spot, either.  Half the time it would show no SSIDs at all, then they would appear, then it would connect, then lose the connection and they'd all disappear.

And yes, I tried all the tricks posted here - reset network, airplane mode, clear Safari cookies & cache, set proxy. Nothing seems to help.

This is on my iPad 2 Wifi model.

Very disappointed.

It does work really well - at my home office on 100% Apple routers.

From the comments it may be worthwhile waiting a bit before upgrading.

I have no trouble at home or most places that have hot spots.  But at my daughter's house, I do have trouble - my grandsons also have trouble with their older iPads - one is using OS6 and the other the latest version for the iPad 1.  I think it's the lousy router my SIL has set up - no other explanation.

No problems at all in Starbucks, McDonald's or any other public WiFi on my iPad 2 running iOS 6 and now iOS 6.0.1. Very satisified. Explain why you think this is a widespread issue and not specific to you or your location.

I just upgraded my 2 iPads and my 2 iPhones. So far, the wifi is working fine.

I am going to Starbucks across the street to test the wifi. Hope it will work

Iphone 4S WiFi Issue :

I'd like to point out IO6.0.1 upgrade connecting to Netgear WG102 with their latest firmware 5.0.3 is still a failure with IOS 6.0 and IOS 6.01. Ive tried for two security profiles setup on the device having seperate SSIDs. I have a profile with WPA2 - PSK enabled and WEP Enabled.

Looks lke their update still hasnt ironed out all these WiFi issues OR Netgear still needs to come to the party.

I can confirm the firmware on the Netgear device 5.0.1 works like a charm with IOS6.0 and IOS6.0.1

Another waiting game it seems, though i think i'd be dead before another release !

Mpa, I upgraded all my iPads and iPhones to 6.0.1, worked well on my home wifi network. I went to Starbucks and it took forever to connect to the wifi network there. My blackberry that I use for work registered to Starbucks network in a friction of a second.

I deleted the cookies and the history in Safari, it connected to Starbucks network but it took a long time.

I attend to agree with you, it's time to switch to a different brand, Android is my next choice. Not impressed with apple

Nope, but then I never have had a probllem with any of my iOS devices on WPA2, or any other setting. A lot of it is the equipment, at home and at some workplaces. There are configuration issues, as well as firmware updates to the site you are trying to connect with.

I've always been able to adjust my settings, if need be, and get connected, either I'm real lucky, or it's because it's my profession (semi-retired now). At home I use nothing but Apple Extreme routers, as they are generally superior to other home routers.

In the business world, I use nothing but Cisco routers, Extreme Networking equipment, as well as Juniper WiFi equipment, and once in a while Aruba.

Make sure all of your firmware is up to date, even if your iPad/iPhone worked before an update, as Apple builds in the latest standards and protocols in to their operating systems, and updates.

A loty of time all I have had to do for a person having trouble, is have them delets all of their current networks, and reconfigure them. Most of the time it's almost automatic, but it generally works out fine.

Sometimes it's a matter of interferrence with other devices - you can change chanels, and other configs to cope with that. Sometimes it can be interference from an app - check your apps for updates, and if none of the above helps, do a reset - sometimes it works.

You shouldn't have to restore from backup, as you will likely have the same issue if you have backed  your device up recently, like right after you updated the OS.

A good number of Fortune 500 companies do not use Apple in their enterprise and your mentioned equipment manufacturers. Thus for everyone the Apple product should work. With latest update 6.0.1 the issue seems to resolve, mentioned explicitly or not but the issue has been resolved for me.

It will be kind of Apple to test the versions before launch and not keep the fanboys in lurch for a month.
