iOS6/Podcast App Subscription Issue

Okay, so I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS6. Moving podcasts into their own app is irritating, but tolerable. I went ahead and let it Sync across all devices. I guess I'll see what kind of a fiasco that creates when I get home.

But, for whatever reason the app is, in addition to podcasts that I had synced, it's showing on the list podcasts that I haven't subscribed to in months. No episodes of them, but is there any way I can get them off of the list?

Press the "Edit" button on the top/left of the screen. Then you can delete individual podcasts that are listed.

I tried this and deleted the podcasts, but within the following day the podcasts come back. Worse still, after I mark individual episodes of a podcast as played, they come back and show up as unplayed. Is there a manual as to how this is supposed to work? (Or is it completely buggy?)

I gave up on the app eventually. If you delete the Podcasts app and restart your phone, you can play podcasts un the Music app again, and manage them from iTunes.

I have the exact same issue as dsubar. I think I'm going to do what cpragman did, manage my podcasts through itunes again.
