Text message deleted on iPhone not deleted on iPad

My iPhone and iPad are playing well together with respect to messages. Text messages are received on both and replies are shown on both. However, if I delete a message on my either the iPhone or iPad, it is not deleted on the other device.

Feature or bug?

Thanks,

ed

Hi,

Feature.

In this case Sync means "Display all Messages on relevant iOS and Messages apps"

It does not mean "Keep Current state of Messages updated across all devices"

Some people would wish to store their Messages on their Mac as it is likely to have more storage space.

HI,

I had not noticed if one device "read" the message whether other devices also mark the message.

I have just tried to send a message from my iPhone to the Apple ID and the Send process has not finished them for me to check.

In fact after several minutes of waiting I got a Red "Not Delivered " exclamation mark.

However my main point was the actual Messages are otherwise untouched.
