No, it doesn't matter how "old" the ipsw is, but when Apple stops signing that firmware. 5.1.1 is done. But you can save iOS 6 SHSH blobs without any jailbreak required.
Well...i'downloaded an ipsw from internet matching my ipod....that doesn't seem to be easy as that....
BUT
When i bought it, it was delivered with ios5: is that possible to restore it to the factory settings ?
I am really sad for loosing youtube. There is not a single video site that is even close to youtube. Really disappointing!
You can still access youTube using a browser like Safari at http://m.youtube.com. Nothing has been lost just because the YouTube App is not included by Apple.
If you want the App back a new iPad version will probably be available in the App Store soon. The iPhone version is already available.
I wonder, other than the youtube and the apple maps issues, is the iOS 6 really that bad? I haven't upgraded my devices yet and I'm really hesitating about doing so. Is there anything worth it to upgrade or I just better stay with the iOS 5?
Previously, once you type one word - say Mickey Mouse. You can keep on watching videos of mickey mouse or related videos. Now everytive one video ends, you need to search for more. My two years son cannot type; so he comes everytime he needs new video. Is there any solution for that?
When you search for a video you are presented with a set of videos matching the search. You select one to watch. When that video ends you just touch the browser back button to return to the set of videos from the search. You can then select another video to view. If you have watched all of the videos shown from the search you can display more videos matching the search by touching the "Show more items" button at the bottom. No typing is required.
Wait untill the next update comes out! While iOS 6 has went smoothly, presumably for the majority, a browse of this forum shows the extent of problems it has caused for others. You could just be one of the latter group. I have decided against the update and I suggest you do to.
If you update to iOS 6 like i did you will forever wish you didn't. They should have never released it as an update. It's nothing more than a really bad beta program filled with bugs and missing apps. It's real hard to find anything good to say about iOS 6. I know because each day at least one of my family members begs me to remove the updates on there device because its crashing or going black or just plain not working the list is long. We have iPads, iTouches, iPods ect . . . They all have many problems and none had any problems before the update and all are less than a few months old.
I can only hope apple does something about this.
That certainly has not been my experience. I have iOS6 running on all devices and none of them have issues. Yes, the YouTube version for iPad is not yet available, but I'm using the iPhone version on my iPad until the iPad version is available. It seems to work just fine for the moment.
Congratulations, you are among the few who overlook.
By the sounds of things, I'm not the only one not happy with IOS6. Not by a long shot. Don't like the new YouTube app as much and the maps app is ****. Street view alone made the google maps far better. Hope Apple figures this out soon. Not happy.
Well, with all bad experiences of others I think I'd better not take the chance. I'll wait until another update with all the issues fixed like you guys suggest. Thanks! 😉
Your welcome
yes it's that bad: especially with itune 10.7, NO MORE WI-FI SYNC....and wi-fi sync when you've tasted it you don't wanna go back....
for me ios6 and itunes 10.7 ARE NO GO (even if it's too late, i just wanna warn the oothers, me also)
I also want to goback from 6. I hate IOS 6 because of the poor signal and high battery consumption.
