Passbook disables app store?

When I try to connect to Passbook, it diverts me to the App Store and tells me "Cannot connect to iTunes store" like in this screenshot.

Whilst, the normal app store looks like this:

Pay extra attention to the layout of the bottom bar on both screenshots. It appears as though Passbook disables the App Store AND changes the layout of the store. Is this happening for everyone or just me?
