iPhone 5 Apple.com Orders Showing Oct. 5th Delivery

Hey guys, I ordered my phone on the 14th at 5:30am EST (2:30am PST) so I was 2 and a half hours late. I ordered from Apple.com (which I am regretting now). Anyways, I was curious if anyone ordered around the same time as me and if they were able to get any tracking updates. I tried the "Track By Reference" option while inputting my phone number and nothing is showing up. The only thing that shows is Apple.com saying delivery on Oct. 5th (boo!).

Me too, and I'm really doubting we will be getting our phones on the 5th. They were so not ready for the demand for this phone. Really disappointed in how Apple handled this release. Bet Steve is rolling over...

Actually I think we will get them before Oct. 5th. I feel like Apple over estimates on purpose so that they look better when they ship earlier than said. My guess is we will get them by next Friday, hopefully sooner. If we do in fact get them on the 5th then I will be sorely dissapointed. It's tough hearing people ordered from AT&T hours after we did and they are getting their tomorrow.

I hope you're right, but have heard local news reports stating Apple is pushing back the delivery times on the unfilled orders.

I'm just mad because I had my alarm set for 3am EST and I missed it and woke up at 5:30 instead. I know they are putting 3-4 weeks on an new iPhone orders but I'd be suprised if ours are pushed back any more. Who knows. Make sure you guys post any updates here if you see anything change with your shipping status. Thanks.

We're all in this together I guess. I wanted to order from AT&T too but they had a problem looking up my info, so I figured I would have better luck on the Apple side. I ordered at 5:45 am and got the Oct 5 delivery date too.

I did get an email this morning from AT&T about my "recent activity related to my wireless account", so maybe that means their getting my phone ready to ship. The email was about how to contact customer service about my account so I am hopeful that things are starting to move.

I'll let you know if I hear anything, or if the tracking info shows up in UPS. I've heard some people have found their tracking information by putting in their order # (less the last two digits) and/or by using their full ZIP+4 zip code. I am checking every variant twice a day, hoping that some tidbit of information will show up.

Maybe the news reports I'd heard were talking of more recent pre-orders being pushed back 3 to 4 weeks. They love to sensationalize these things. Keeping my fingers crossed for Oct 5th. Will post any updates I see.

I got the same email this morning as well. I thought the same exact thing you did. Which gave me some hope. I've been checking my credit card statement as well. Nothing yet. Maybe this weekend? haha. At least we have a board for the Oct. 5thers now though to hold us off.

Don't feel bad...I ordered mine 40 minutes after the initial pre-order launch and I'm expecting mine on Oct. 5th too!!! They can't explain to me why. What bothers me is that people who ordered WELL after me are getting theirs tomorrow. Great job Apple

I ordered mine just as the site went live, and I also ended up with the October 5th delivery date. My carrier is Verizon, and unlike the rest of you, I got billed the full amount right away. I checked the UPS site, and nothing comes up when I use the reference tracking. I have yet to receive any emails at all besides the confirmation of pre-order.

My order shows my the time as 12:59 a.m. (PST) on Sept 14 and my ship dates is Oct 5th...and my card was charged the full amount at the time of purchase. I am with AT&T...but I pre-ordered from the from the Apple website. My order shows as "Processing Items". I ordered an "iPhone 5 64GB Black & Slate (GSM)".
