icloud mail VIP box showing unread mail

icloud.com is showing unread mail notifications beside all of the names in my VIP mailbox even though there are, in fact, no unread messages. The inbox has no unread mail notifications displayed. These notifications do NOT appear in my VIP mailbox on my iPhone 4 (ios 6) This is one of several problems I am presently having with icloud (though Apple show the systmen staus as all working). Have tried accessing icloud.com from both Safari (5.1.7) on Mac Pro running 10.6.8 and Chrome (version 21.0.1180.89) - same results on both.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

There's an unread notification next to two of the VIP mailboxes. There are no actual unread mails in those mailboxes. Revoked the VIP status, logged out, logged back in, reinstated VIP status and the unread notification showed up again. Added new VIP mailbox for myself (different Adress) sent an email to iCloud, selected mail and unread notification disappeared imediately.

Also have the same issue. On two macs no problem it shows read, same for Iphone. But when I login to it through web browser at work I get the same unread problem on all the VIP contacts.

Arrg, Apple is getting really annoying lately with these problems and no one to fix it. Even junk mail is not filtering on same email accounts I flagged many times.

That's not a very helpful comment unless you´re an Apple employee who has something substantial to say regarding the issue.

I mean, for goodness sake it's not like Apple needs anyone roaming the forums for bug reports and soothing disgruntled customers. What is it with Apple that people feel they need to defend them as if they were a helpless child? Wake up already! Apple is the worlds most valuable company. They make errors and that's all right but it's also absolutely okay to not be happy with their products and services.

Making errors sure I will give that to them. Having no way to contact support for the product is a completely different issue. Maybe you need to wake up because being the worlds most valuable company has nothing to do with quality of service. The day the US stock market is based on logic and not emotion will be the day traders are not in the pits.

Another days topic though so move on.

Anyways I can and will call it out on a forum as there is no other place, not even an email.

Deal with it!

I was just being general not directed at anyone. Blahh sometimes things don't come out right on forums 🙂

But ya, Edit:

I like Apple, but no fan boy. I like BMW, Mercedes to but will also call them on their shiasser.

If your products (any company) has such good products then support should be there free, and easily to access. Being in IT for over 20years I have seen many a good company fall for similar reasons.

Microsoft,

Sun,

SGI,

IBM,

and the list goes on, and they had their fans also.

Thanks to Neo707 for the suggestions; I revoked the VIP status for my contacts and then reinstated them. This didn't immediately resolve the isseu, and I haven't been using the web interface for the last couple of weeks. Some time since then, the problem has been resolved, VIP mailbox is working as it should.

I didn't, however, start this thread looking to open a broad discussion on Apple's technical support. I'm sure there are other forums better suited to that. Thanks to everyone for their input.
