I have gone through all the tips here and shut down anything that could drain the battery. Most of these things were turned off in iOS5 already, iOS 6 turned some back on and more..

I have done the reboots, no apps running and my battery goes down to 65% in 4 hours with no usage. Just sitting in my pocket. I have an iPhone 4S that was in perfect working order with OK battery drain before the update to iOS6.

Apple - please come with a patch? How hard is it to spot these problems before rolling out an update...

To add my voice, yes it's terrible. On 4S my battery used to last all day with moderate use. Now it's dead in 5 hours. I lose 15% an hour at least and nothing I do to reduce use fixes it.

No turning off apps, not turning off LS or notifications. It's totally rubbish. I may as well carry a phone with a cord around.

I am resisting doing a total reset but will if nothing changed or Apple don't acknowlege a problem in the next few days.

Hi.. i did a total reset on my 4s and it's mutch better now. idle 42 hrs and usage 6 hrs and 4 min still have  2% left.

I just did a soft reset so I'll see if it does anything.

allso what i did, let the phone die and start charging from 0% after my reset.

I updated trough iTunes. Did a reset all setting  and my battery life is good, 3G and data always on, wifi too, bt and ls off- I have 17 h standby, 3,30 hours usage and 50% of battery left. Right before resetting all setting I saw my battery to drop 1% in 3-4 I can use it again

I have sorted it on my phone turn off traffic in maps then do a soft reaset "hold down power and home button" do not open maps or find friend as this will start the battery problem again, if you do you will need to do a soft reset again.

All points to a very very usless new map app please bring back google maps with street view.

Traffic is not switched on. Only very limited location services and notifications. The bare minimum. No use of maps so far, no automatic time, none of any of the tips above. My phone is dead in half a day with barely any usage. Apple - HELP !!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just returned from a business trip where my battery failed halfway thru the day (and whats up with the Twitter freeze??)

I've been a loyal fan for decades. Today = 3 MacBook Pros, 2 ipads, and this is my 3rd phone (my husband has had 4), 2 apple tvs, airport....come on.

Apple, you have until Monday. Then I'm buying an Android and ditching it all. iPhone for business? No, its not.

I think the biggest difference in iOS other than maps is passbook.  Since its a location based app, it will try to constantly look for your location (GPS) to be able to present to you the passbooks that are near you.  It will do this even when the phone is locked and not "in use". I turned that off and I am getting improved battery performance.

I have 4s and have same problem too, during the day I'm charging 3 times, I think Apple asap needs to fix the problem. I also tried to reboot, but did not work

I had the same problem till today when I took mine back to Apple and found I had 4 corrupt componets in the phone, so they did a restore and had me do a back up to the Iphone 5, it took about 2 and a half hours to do but my battery seems to be lasting a lot longer then it was.

Let's just face facts: this upgrade is a shambles!

Battery life on my 4S has harved and I am now having to charge it three times over 48 hours. Before the iOS6 upgrade I only had to charge it every day or so!

And while I am winging - how dare Apple delete a superb program (Google Maps) on MY phone which I OWN and replace it with an inferior Beta product that is frankly rubbish. Who owns this phone? I seem to remember paying a lot of money for it!,

This is the sort of corporate arrogance that you used to get from Microsoft - beware the slippery slope Apple - the bigger you are the harder you fall!
