Apple TV use in classroom.

Can I just use a wireless router, not connected to the internet to mirror my iPad and MacBook on Apple TV for classroom instruction? Our enterprise network administrator is not allowing the use of Apple TV in the classrooms at this time because they bog down the network. It is not crucial for me to get onto the internet, I just need to be able to display material from my devices.
