Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard without changing my Mac?

I have a 15" MacBook Pro laptop that works completely fine. The only reason to upgrade it is to have an updated OSX. What are the limitations for my Mac? The specs are: 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Memory 1 GB 667MHz

MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 111 GB, 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SD RAM

The limit for it is 10.6.8, or 10.7.5 if more RAM is installed in it.
