Q: ios 6 no internet on 3G

I've just upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 and now internet isn't working on 3G anymore. 3G is switched on and the network strength shows 4 bars.

For the record, internet works as soon as wifi is switched on and connected.

(oddly enough, it shows iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS6 whereas I've selected iPhone 4S, iOS 6 as Product when posting this message...)

Apple, how is this even possible???

First of all, im one of the hardcore loyal Apple fan boys, but im rapidly building up a hate towards Iphone now due to a very arrogant behaviour from Apple.

"This forum is not monitored by Apple"

Who really believes that Apple creates a forum and never check it?

I fully understand they cant interfere with every issue in here, but with major issues like people arent able to use their phones, and the reply from Apple care is, nothing we can do!

My Iphone 5 is one month old, it worked great on 6.01, but now, one week after up to 6.02 internet out of the blue doesnt work at all on 3G, ive tried everything, resetting, hard reset, network reset, editing Vpn, nothing helps.

So basically i now have a simple mobilephone with wifi only.

In case you wondered, there are actually people using Iphones professionally at work, this means i no longer have the ability to read or write mails outside home/office, and you cannot do anything about it???

Considering the past year flops in iphone releases, software, ratling buttons interiors etc, i think it would be apropriate for Apple to make an official statement about certain issues, like, we are very sorry the problems youre experiencing, but we can assure you we are currentrly working on a fix for this.

Thinking doing this will make Apples reputation worse is the biggest mistake u can make now, imo, humblenes is the key here.

Hope this problem is solved asap, otherwise i wilø be FORCED to buy another brand, even if i dont like it.

    Sincere Apple products user!

I totally agree.   Apple,  how is this possible..??

i´m from Bolivia (souht america country) and i have the same problem, since i upgraded to iOS 6.0.1 (two days ago) I have limited 3g connnection in my Iphone 4s, i'm sure this is an iOS 6 problem, my wife's Iphone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) works fine with the same carrier usiging the same APN and I used to have no problems usgin 3g connection until the upgrade.  I already tried resetting network settings, turning phone on and off and the problem remains the same, very frustrating.!

Apple please do something about this issue ASAP..!!

I sort of have the same problem. I would have strong ATT 4G LTE signal on my iPhone 5 and I cannot make or recieve any calls. I try to make calls and i get "CALL FAILED". I notice the indicator switching from LTE to NOTHING. It usually changes to 4G but in certain places it doesn't. It fails to connect to 4G(basically 3G), so I can't make or recieve calls in those places while my dads flip phone with ATT 3G works perfectly.

    PLEASE HELP!

Try updating to iOS 6.1, rebooting your iPhone if you rarely do, also try toggling airplane mode on for 5 seconds that usually help sometimes.

This won't help or will help only for some minutes. Then I'm offline again. Only workaround that really helps (me; iPhone 4S) is turning 3G off and use Edge.

Just had a message from Vodafone telling me not upgrade to 6.1 but to wait for the next version while Apple fixes 3G performance issues.

That's odd... I've got Vodafone and no one has communicated anything like that to me.

I'm on 6.1 since it was released and 3G works like a charm.

Net10 provides service for my iPhone locked to ATT. I havent had any issues with my cellular data until I updated to iOS 6. Restored, issue persists. Contacted NET10, and found this information:

-called 1-877-836-2368, provided my cell number, got a rep after about 10 min.

    - rep says that cellular data has been suspended on the iPhone due to "high data usage".

-transferred to "High data use" line, which gave me these instructions on how to resolve this:

-You are hearing this message because your data service has been suspended in accordance with our terms and conditions

-AT&T compatiable sim cards are being capped at 1.5 GB of data per month, effective march 1st 2013

-this does not apply to Tmobile compatiable sim cards or to Net10 phones.

-Visit Net10 net10data.com for terms and conditions

-AT&T sim card, resolve by unlocking iPhone

-data service will be restored 24 hrs after adding a new service card or a plan AFTER your service enddate. Adding a service card BEFORE your service enddate WILL NOT restore your service.

-so get the phone unlocked, and then make sure to add a plan or pin AFTER your service expires.

-call the number above for NET10 customers to make sure this is the issue as well

    i hope this helps!

I absolutely hate how NET10 and straight talk treat us poor iPhone owners. If I use over 100 MB of data a day they cap my speed to 30 KB/s seconds. I wish they were unlimited like they advertised.
