Q: ios 6 no internet on 3G

I've just upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 and now internet isn't working on 3G anymore. 3G is switched on and the network strength shows 4 bars.

 

For the record, internet works as soon as wifi is switched on and connected.

 

(oddly enough, it shows iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS6 whereas I've selected iPhone 4S, iOS 6 as Product when posting this message...)

Problem solved :-) My 3G is up and running :-)

 

I found that the iOS6 installment somehow changed the existing Cellular Data Network settings of the APN (the 1st one).

For fixing this issue follow the path:

Settings > General > Cellular > switch Cellular Data from ON to OFF in order to enable the Cellular Data Network > click on Cellular Data Network and here I think that based on the country/ contract/ carrier/ you have 3 options:

1. you know your APN settings and you modify them, turn the Cellular Data back to ON, switch off your and after that switch on phone and it works (my case :-)

2. click on Reset Setting (you have to scroll down), turn the Cellular Data back to ON, switch off and after that switch on your phone and it works

3. you dont know your settings and therefore you call your carrier customer care and they will help you (Vodafone, Orange, ...)

    Hi Guys,

     

    i have found a solution to this problem from the net, its not a permanant solution though..

     

    if your really in need of 3G then all you have to do is to, go to settings>Carrier>tun off automatic, and then it will start serching for a network, once you see the service provider to whom your subscribed to, select that and then go back...after a few seconds... "3G" will apear on the screen and then your good to go....

    Nope i dont think its carrier problems cos when it was 4.3.1 3G was working fine but when upgradd,it has 3G problems,i am singapore,and i use starhub

    Hi,

       I have tried your method but when go to the site & select create APN, error message download failed appeared- error code 102. Is this due to goole chrome I use ?

    I have just had this problem on my hubby's iphone 5. The phone was showing 3G connection but wouldn't load the internet or connect to any internet at all. I tried resetting network and doing a reset without erasing data which both were no good. All the settings were the same as my iphone expect he had 2 profiles. 1 from our network 3 and another from arbitron mobile distribution I deleted the 3 one no change then deleted the arbitron mobile distribution one hay presto working internet again. I've got no idea where these profiles came from or what they do but they are now gone and all is good :)
