Feb 18, 2013 1:30 PM in response to bluestaffby tiftod,My DND works fine - maybe a little too fine! It sets itself everyday during the preset times, I don't get any call, text or email notifications during those hours - which is where the problem lies. Since I work 3rd shift, I don't want to be bothered by people who don't have the decency to respect my sleep hours BUT I do need to have calls from my husband, kids and mom in case of an emergency. Even though all of these people are set in my favorites, I don't receive a single notification when they call or text - until I actually look at my phone! That's just not working for me. Is there an actual way to make DND work AND get the notifications I need????

Feb 22, 2013 6:58 PM in response to tiftodby Bluenose616,If they ring you twice within 3 minutes of each call. The 2nd call will pass through DND.

Feb 23, 2013 8:24 AM in response to bluestaffby pdubya.walker,Yes if they call back within 3 minutes it rings but the issue is that I have it set to allow calls from favorites. Even if someone in my favorites calls it won't ring until they call back within 3 minutes.
I want to allow calls from favorites any time even if DND is set and they shouldn't have to know to call back within 3 minutes to get through.

Apr 4, 2013 6:10 AM in response to bluestaffby lindafromcincinnati,My DND works fine and I have it on all the time to prevent callers other than those in my favorites from coming through. However, as of about a month or so ago, it turns itself off at about 7:30 am. Could this be a result of an upgrade to the IOS?

Apr 4, 2013 7:47 AM in response to tiftodby cluelessonapple,Mine seems to be working fine as well. Wonder if there was a stealth update with the 6.1.3 update. The thing I still can't get used to is the fact that the actual indicator in settings is switched to off but still adheres to being on in notifications. I think the usability / human factors is a bit off there. That was part of my difficulty in using this initially. (besides that fact that it would not screen anything and be off during the day...)

Apr 4, 2013 2:22 PM in response to cluelessonappleby joae1975,I think the key to it working is to have your phone locked in standby. DND won't work if you're phone is not in locked mode while using another app. At least that's the problem I had.

Apr 17, 2013 7:06 AM in response to bluestaffby tedfromFLA,works fine, for me, with phone calls. doesn't work for email. i've put an email address in the favorites list and i do not receive notification of a received email when dnd is on. seems like it does not notify of any incoming emails whether in favorites or not.

Jun 5, 2013 10:58 PM in response to bluestaffby gnfoster,Argh.... I'm new to this iPhone thing but it's not THAT difficult to realize the DND is not working correctly.
iPhone 4 - os 6.1.3 Verizon
It does not allow favorites to come thru on texts, imessages or calls. Turn it on and set the scheduled times, or manually with the switch, or combination thereof.
Any way you set it it does NOT allow the important (favorites) notifications to come thru... I don't wanna get BS notifications during the night, but DO NEED to get that emergency call from my aging mom, or even the not so emergency call from work when I'm on call. That's all I need is to wake up to find out I've been fired because my iPhone didn't let that important call thru.
Come on Apple, what's the fix? Or do I need to go back to my trusty slower Android (hey, at least it works) ?

Jun 6, 2013 4:45 AM in response to FelipeVby joae1975,The problem I was having was running an app while I sleeping. The phone has to be in the locked position for DND to work. I was running a "help you sleep app." Kinda funny how it tries to help with sleeping but you can't turn off the ringer, lol!

Jun 6, 2013 4:47 AM in response to joae1975by FelipeV,Well you're not going to get much sleep from DND if you are running an app.

Jun 6, 2013 6:33 AM in response to FelipeVby gnfoster,Pretty much turn it on in settings and set a schedule. Then select to allow my favorites to come thru. Make sure my preferred contacts are set to favorite.
That's what it says to do. I doubled checked SEVERAL times thinking I was missing something...
