I want to update my iPad with os6

I connected my iPad to my computer via the USB port. Sync it with iTunes. In iTunes, under the Summary tab, I went down to "version" and clicked on the "upgrade" button to upgrade to OS 6.

The original iPad, iPad 1 if you want to call it that, cannot run iOS 6.
