iPod Touch frozen on connect to itunes screen

Hi Everyone,

So I was in the midst of installing the latest upgrade to my iPod Touch 4g. It was connected via USB to my iMac, iTunes was open, all going well... Until suddenly a window came up saying there was an error and my iPod could not be upgraded. Poop. Unplugged my iPod which I probably shouldn't have done.

Now, neither iTunes nor Finder will recognise my iPod, and my iPod itself seems to remain on the "connect to iTunes" screen (a USB cable with the iTunes symbol). I have tried turning it off with the on/off button at the top, as well as I have tried turning it off with the on/off button pushed at the same time as the home button. If I turn it back on, the connect to iTunes screen is still there. I am currently tring to run down the battery to see if that does anything in the way of fixing things...

I have no idea what to do really, and I rely on my iPod a lot ~ my husband, who is English and lives in England, and I (in Canada) use iMessage and email daily for our commuication during the day... our iDevices make having to be apart a little easier...

If someone out there has a solution please let me know...

Thanks everyone...

Hello all,

Problem solved... I suddenly got a brain-wave to restart my iMac. By doing that, it enabled it to pick up my iPod, which for some reason it had stopped doing. Then I was able to do a restore. I could not do anything at all until I restarted my computer... And thankfully, I didn't lose anything with the restore. My husband has told me that he has heard a lot of people having issues with the latest upgrade...

Anyway, thank you all for replying and for offering your help ~ it's much appreciated.
