How do I get rid of IOS 6?

Big step backward. Have been an Apple fan both home and business and am very frustrated with loss of critical and useful features - maps, GPS, and VERY accurate traffic info. Looks like I have a rather expensive door stop if I can't get these critical features back quickly....

I cant believe how many people are displeased with ios 6 along with me. I just posed in another thread, asking if its worth the hassle and risk to roll back to previous ios. I have seen a couple of videos on youtube explaining how to do it thru itunes. But seeing as a lot of people updated using wifi, im not so sure that method would work.

Anyone have any thoughts,opinions.ideas?

Likely about the same proportion of people who were disgusted with iOS 5, or iOS 4.

Seriously, it is always like this - every new release of iOS or OS X seems to be about the same number of people not happy with the changes. I think it will always be that way - when you have 100's of millions of users all over the world, you will never, ever please everyone.

Myself, I'm not immediately bummed with iOS 6, although only had it for one day thus far, so hard to really judge yet. Maps was not a big deal for me and I can use maps.google.com or one of my other Nav apps to do the things I want or need from it. The new youtube app will do me for my needs, or I'll just use the mobile web site.

I do like the new store layout and features, and the separate podcast app.

I'm sure everyone uses their phone differently but for me good mapping software is critical. Imagine if you had a cellphone that couldn't make calls! If Apple does not resolve this quickly (days not months) I will have to buy a new phone and just let the contract run out on my Iphone4s.

I don't know much about phones so any opinions as to the best phone for running Google Maps? I think it needs to be well integrated with the phone much like it was in iOS 5. Will I be able to transfer my phone number?

Hopefully there will be a good answer at my Genius Bar appt on Saturday and this won't be necessary.

Camera stopped working after the upgrade, I went to the service center of my local phone provider, and they told me that they could perform a "hard" upgrade but it would take a couple of days, since they had tons of simiilar requests, all with different problems, they recomended me to wait, if the rest of the phone was functional.

I agree, wiht you, maps can be better to US citizens, but it is worse for the rest of the world, fortunately you can still have Google's using Chrome or Safari, I miss the old Youtube., For me the only improvemnt is Siri, with more languages but a OS upgrade was not necessary.

Since Steve Jobs is gone, Apple is declining, they still have a big share of the market due to the old popularity, but it will be not lasting. After 4 Iphones probably my next phone will be an Android.

My Genius visit did NOT go well. Apple will NOT restore my phone to IOS 5 so that I can have Google Maps back😟. Guess its complicated with firmware updates, etc.

I was hoping I could get Google Maps back until Apple figures out what they are going to do about this map fiasco and I could figure out what my options are. I did check out Google Maps on the Samsung Galaxy which looks pretty slick if I want to go that route.

But for now I'm delaying the purchase of two new iMacs - a Mac Server for the business and an iMac for the home and may put on hold my plans to roll out iPads to our sales associates (I'm not feeling very positive about Apple today). We are running a networked Filemaker Pro application for sales and I've been talking with the vendor about Filemaker Go enhancements which would make that possible.

Apple have never an will never allow a downgrade of iOS, so it's not a step backwards.

iOS 4 turned the 3G into a brick but they eventually found a workaround with updates.

iOS 6 has made my 4S faster and slicker.

You can get google maps via their website and copy to homepage

Find a friend is much better

I think I have sorted out passbook now, sorry cant remember the link you need to follow.

I you think you may have an issue with an iOS, don't update on day 1, wait for 6.0.1 which is bound to be a couple if weeks away.

Even typing this on my phone is slicker than before!

If you have an issue with your iPhone 5, remember that there are always issues with new phones and learn to wait a couple of weeks before getting one

Well done apple - a good iOS version!
