Earpods not working with Logitech G110 keyboard...

Hi, I've just recieved the Earpods. I can't hear any sound once i plugged into the keyboard (Logitech G110), but when i hold onto the middle remote button on the earpods i hear sound...but when i plug right into my computer's back it works like normal, just that the wire is not long enough. I'm just wondering if there's a solution to this problem. I've tried rebooting computer, check device manager and update keyboard sofware. Before i had the earpods i was using the old earphones that came with iPhone 4, it worked just fine. I think is becuase apple changed the way the remote/microphone work on the earpods. I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Thank you for your time, have a nice day! 🙂
