Hey, you can, eventually, find areas where apple specifies that Siri is only for the iPod Touch 5th gen but they weren't very clear, at all, on the new features page http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/
"iOS 6 gives you more features to make the things you do every day even better. It’s free and easy to upgrade wirelessly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
Under that heading it has icons for your new features including Siri, clear eh.....
It's all fine for the tech savvy adults who read through every post in the lead up to the launch etc etc but for my 10 year old who saw the iOS6 update saying it came with Siri for ipod touch and waited patiently while it downloaded and installed it was a big let down.
It feels like they're selling the fully featured iOS6 upgrade with all the bells and whistles and then saying, what didn't you read the fine print or completely separate article that says many of these features wont actually work on your device because, let's be honest here, we don't want to put them on our older devices, please buy the new device, cha-ching...
Apple dropping the public relations ball imo, they have avid fans, but these tiny miscommunications and let downs are the torture of a thousand cuts that'll at the very least turn people ambivalent, like leaving siri off the iPad originally, realise when you have something people want and give it to your fans (especially the young ones) what is the cost of putting siri on ipod touch 4's ?
