Is it possible to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 from iOS 6?

Is this do-able? If so, how?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.

No, there are no Apple supported regressions.

Why are you trying to justify your decision with me? I don't care why you want to do it.

You do realize that in order to have an agreement it takes two sides to agree, right? Why should Google renew their contract with Apple for Google maps within the OS? MacWorld is reporting that Google is finishing an app that will l be available in the App Store sometime in the future. It will have ads which is how Google makes their money, along with selling the information about the searches you do, and will increase their ad base by about 400 million. A sure win for them.

They could not have done that without signing a new contract with Google, and I just pointed out to you that two sides are needed. If you wait you will have Google Maps but as a download from the App Store.

I don't have a problem with the new app at all. The geobase that it uses needs work but I am sure that is coming. I've spent at least 4 years reporting various problems with the Google Maps database.

So you don't actually read anything, you just ignorantly throw mierda against the wall to see what sticks!

Google Maps announces a 400 year advantage over Apple Maps.

First off, Google didn't announce anything, the author made that up.

I had a great laugh yesterday on this same topic. I was being interviewed for a national radio program in Australia on the topic of Apple Maps and the host asked me what did I really mean by the use of “400 years” and then added that there had been a lot of discussion there about what I had really meant. I was embarrassed, as I had to tell him that “400 years” had no real significance, while admitting that I was being “cheeky” and only meant to infer that this would not be a quick fix.

My phone downloaded the iOS 6 software, despite my having refused it in iTunes, and checking the " never notify me again" box. I haven't installed it, but I want to get rid of it off my phone. I'm not trying to downgrade, I just don't want to upgrade. Can you tell me how to get rid of the downloaded software off the phone, and get rid of the constant notification on the "Settings" icon?

And before anyone starts talking about the really cool features, it doesn't matter. I don't want it.
