Q: just downloaded itunes 10.7 all my music is gone

just downloaded the new itunes 10.7 and my library is now completely empty..any suggestions?

    Your upgrade either lost track of your iTunes database, or your iTunes database got corrupted.

     

    You need to find the location of your iTunes Library.itl file.

     

    You can use the command prompt "dir /a /s "itunes library.itl" " to try to find it.

     

    Check out this Apple article to restore your iTunes databases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660

     

    If your iTunes library became corrupted you may be able to restore it to a previous good version using the Previous Versions feature of Windows 7 as well - just right click on the .itl file and choose Properties / Previous Versions and restore the one before you upgraded.

     

    iTunes will automatically upgrade the library database to the newer version.
