Web Links Get Split In Emails Sent

Sometimes when I send a web link in the body of an email, it gets broken up in 2 pieces. It always seems to split it in the same place. For example, if I was sending a link to an auction on ebay to a few friends, I would just copy and paste the URL in the email. Everything on my end looks fine. I send it out and almost always get a response back saying the link doesn't work. When I look at the body of the reply to me, I see that the link is broken in 2 pieces. The funny thing is it's almost always broken right after a "?" which is part of the URL (about 30 characters in). It's almost as if Mac Mail or something is treating the link like it's a long sentence. It sees a question mark in the address and says, "Hey this sentence runs into the other. Lets do this guy a favor and put a space after the "?" and then a return so the next sentence in on the next line down." This has been frustrating more than once. I've looked through every preference I know of for some format, message composing setting that I've missed.

Has anybody else run into this??

I don't think this is caused by Mail but by whatever program is being used to receive mail at the other end. Windows junk is notorious for doing it. One thing you can try is to always put your urls inside brackets, e.g. <http://whatever.com>. This is supposed to prevent breaking.

Tom,
Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried putting URL's in between " " , , etc. It still splits it up. Some of the recipients are on Macs too. I was doing some more digging and found another way to embed links in the body of an email and it seems to be working fine. I'll be using that way from now on. The splitting link thing still makes me scratch my head and wonder why.
