The thing is, it was working perfectly for me till version 6.0.1. after upgrading, shortcuts got screwed, I wish apple would give me access to clear my iCloud data so I resync from scratch. This this might fix it.
For me, when I turn auto correction on, it starts working again
Everyone, I battled with this issue for months. And finally after updating to 6.1.3 I'd had enough. After multiple attemtps to fix it with the advice given here, restoring to a clean version of iOS, deleting all my shortcuts, etc., etc., I've finally fixed it.
The issue pertains to iCloud. On your iDevice, tap on settings>iCloud. Delete the account. When prompted, delete all the data from the iPhone. ITS OK, it will still be in iCloud.
Then, go to www.icloud.com and sign in. Click on iWork. Save all important files to your local machine, and delete all documents from iCloud. Then sign back into your iCloud accounts on all affected iOS devices. Your keyboard shortcuts should now work flawlessly.
Somehow, a file I'd saved in iCloud was corrupt, and screwing up all the "Documents & Data" syncing function of iCloud.
Since doing this, all is well.
Guys, I have a permanent solution here.
If you can't modified the shortcuts, go to the iCloud folder on your Mac, it usually sit on ~/library/mobile documents
Then delete "com~apple~textinput"
Done.
Once you open the settings of keyboard shortcuts on your idevices, you will find that they back to editable, and of course, usable.
try this one:
tell me if it works
WORKED for me, now i'll check in some hours if it'll keep working.
thank you!
I solved by making a full restore on both iPhone and iPad without restoring from backup. So a clear restore. Now the shortcuts works like magic.
Hey guys the 1 thing ive done that has randomly resolve the issue was reset the network settings. (i.e. SETTINGS> GENERAL> RESET> RESET NETWORK SETTINGS)
it doesn't alter anything besides the wifi networks it remembers. So if you can try this and let me know if it worked that would be great. Thanks
None of the "fixes" posted here work, sure you can get the shortcuts back until your device does its next backup to the cloud! Apple needs to fix this and all these work arounds just don't cut it!
I'm getting fed up of going to my iphone and the keyboard shortcuts have ceased to work.
I've trawled and tried the various solutions on the forums but mMy only fix is to hard power-off the iphone and restart, which takes a couple of minutes.
Its a bug in the OS, come on admit it, Apple!
Once a month i can handle doing the reboot but every other day. Grrr! this needs addressing now!
Its just random. One minute they work, the next they dont.
Come on Apple, if you're bothered, i chose you for reliability!
Same problem here again, over again, over again.
This is getting unreal. Is it possible that none in the dev team had acknowledge this bug personally?
It's Indeed pretty annoying... Deactivating Documents in iCloud is the only thing that works permanently, but it screws up a great feature.
Did you go to iCloud.com and click on the iWork icon, and then delete all documents in your iCloud? Save each to your computer first if need be, but delete any that are there and then see how things work with your keyboard shortcuts.
I never had a document in iCloud. The web portal advises me to get Keynote, Numbers and stuff like that.
Ok my issue was was that my shortcuts were not working and I couldn't delete them, they kept on coming back after I went back into general, and went back again into keyboard to see if my shortcuts were deleted.. To my unpleasant surprise there they were..
So I made sure my documents in my iCloud was shut off and went back to my short cuts and deleted them again and they were still there..
So this is what I did I deleted one of my shortcuts and did a soft rest while in the keyboard menu. When my phone came back on I checked for my shortcuts and the one I deleted was GONE!!!! So I preceded to delete the rest of them and do a soft reset again while in the keyboard menu
After my phone came back on I checked my shortcuts and they were all gone and I went and made new ones and I can safely say it works.
I hope this helps some others that were having the same issue...
Chris
