iPhone 5 loose screw (slight) noise

I have similar problem, but mine doesn't sound like a loose screw, more like the battery or vibration component is loose. When I shake the phone left to right abit I can feel that it's around the top area. Very annoying, besides that it works fine. Gonna go to apple tomorrow maybe to ask.

Similar issues were reported with the 4S when it was released, something to do with the camera.

If memory serves me correctly, it's a none issue.

I haven't noticed it with my 4S, but then I do not go around taping on the device or shaking it just to see what happens.

just placing my 4s (in a case) on the counter or bedside table produces this slight rattle, its been found to be a non-issue as you said and is most likley from the camera components. nothing to worry about.

Im having a similar issue but my is a very loud and heavy shaking object inside the phone, almost like the entire battery is loose.

Ok I took my iphone 5 to apple store and showed the the rattling phone, should've seen the look on the workers faces, definitely not normal, absolutely a warranty issue, they agreed it was probably the battery was loose or something wasn't attached correctly. The swapped it for a new phone immediately and this one is problem free, so far so good, so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Heading 55 miles to my closest Apple Store today for the same problem :-(

Genius appointment at 3:40 p.m., but being there at 10 a.m. and hoping for the best.

Just back from my Genius Bar appoint at the Apple Store at the Falls, Miami.

Loose battery. Adhesive reapplied to the battery. No more rattle. Took less than 5 minutes and sent me on my way.

I have the same issue, and audibly noticed it when placing the phone, backside down, onto the kitchen table. (it was placed gently). Went to do the "tapping" test; indeed, something's loose.

After an 90 minutes on the phone with Sprint, they'll be shipping me a replacement - in 3 weeks. Unfortunately, the next Apple Store is 240miles east/480 miles round trip; too excessive to actually drive there.

Let's hope the replacement is fine, otherwise, I'll have to drive. 😟

I have this exact same noise. I'm debating about getting an appoinment. None of my other iPhones make this noise. It sounds like broken plastic or tiny screw rattling around.

I had a thumping noise in my iPhone 5. I think it was a loose battery.

Talked to apple care and took my phone to apple 3rd st santa monica

Exchanged phone and tapped on the floor display models and the have the shaky sound and so does the replacement

They called it "spring back".......id say ...im watching you apple, i dont think steve would like it

I noticed it today too, so I went straight to Apple store where I bought my phone from. Workers had a surprise on their face and asked how did I notice it....one of the workers tried tapping on one of displays and same noise was found.

I'm gonna go to a different store or maybe call Apple Care to see if I can get a new phone from Apple.
