4.change the http proxy to 'auto',

5.restore the phone twice through iTunes

6.turn off/on the WIFI router

OKAY! So I think my wifi connection is good now. I don't know how or what I did. But then again when I tried to update an app, it doesn't. And at the same time I loose my wifi connection AGAIN. It also says that it couldn't connect with my iTunes which is why I think my app couldn't be updated.

So since my wifi connection went crazy AGAIN (after trying to update the app) I turned my wifi off then on again (after about 20secs) then I got wifi connection again. Hallelujah!!!

So from my problem of not being able to totally connect to wifi yesterday, today the problem is that I can't update my apps without me loosing my wifi connection.

Oh, Apple! Am I going to have a differnt problem every day? I'm going crazy over here.😢

Apple is so nice to delete our posts on how to do it. Since they would rather keep their customers with proken devices, than assist them in the working previous software. That is pure arrogance!

You have to go to a site and download the 5.1.1 file manually for your phone (recommend OSXDaily). Then hold shift and click restore, and select the 5.1.1 file from where it is downloaded on your computer.

It will restore it to 5.1.1.

Apple should NOT delete my post, since it is a FEATURE IN THEIR ITUNES FOR MANUAL FILE INSTALLS. And they are not even acknowledging an issue to boot. They have third party sites on BS PR control.

In my case at least, the problem was with my Airport Extreme base station. My solution was to open the Airport Utility and turn off security. (The software will object.) Update anyway, Your Airport will reboot. Check your iOS device ---- rejoin your network. You should have good internet access. Now go back to Airport Utility and restore security, preferably WPA Personal. Update again.

On your iOS device, rejoin your network. In my case, all was good.

OK,the problem was solved the day before yesterday.

I toke my iPhone4S to the Apple Store in Pudong,Shanghai. They told me that my iPhone might have trouble with the hardware problems,so they adviced me to repair it.

Finally, they fixed it by replace most part of the phone.

yep,the problem is caused by the hardware, but it was strange that when I use the iOS5.1.1 the iPhone work well.

Hello,

I also have this exact same issue as does my wife on our iPhone 4. I did not understand some of this solution and was hoping you could answer some questions that I have.

When you brought the iphone to the Apple store, did they fix or replace your phone?

If they fixed it, how long did it take?

Did they say this was a issue that could be fixed by a update soon to be released(crossing my fingers)?

Did they do this at no cost?

THank you in advance
