Oct 17, 2012 2:38 PM in response to Ios6-notworkingby justjesper,The latest month people has been frustrated with the lack of information from Apple. Users are getting more and more frustrated with there IOS 6 device not working to the standard of the IOS 5.1.1
Apple has appoligised about the lacking IOS, and more and more info is coming out to the public about just how badly the newest software has been tested.
I guess I should say lack of testing. It must have been rushed out the door, so they could match another phone on the marked.
Yet it is impossible to get any info from Apple, and all we can do is using the "black hole"
http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
or we can call
U.S. iPod, Mac and iPad technical support:
(800) APL-CARE (800-275-2273)
U.S. iPhone technical support:
(800) MY-IPHONE (800-694-7466)
And you should do so if you have not yet done so.
But why do we not hear anything from Apple ?
How can we feel appriciated by Apple, when they do not want to have a dialog with there consumers ?
Even the technical support people are getting frustrated as they get no information on what is going on eather.
Is it wrong of me to demand some information from a company who in a way downgraded my product with the faulty IOS 6 ?
Should I stay silent and just wait for Apple to see and realize that it was uterly wrong to rush this out to us ?
( I know I will now get attacked by Highlevel users on the forum. They will clame that it'a all working fine, even when apples ceo Tim cook came out applogising for ios 6 not working, and/or Apple will fix it and is doing everything they can to fix all the problems with ios6. How they know this I have no idea, as they all claim that they are not working for apple and that Apple is not looking in these discussions)

Oct 17, 2012 3:16 PM in response to justjesperby Shanon.Roberts,Hi justjesper
Apple CEO apologised about the issues with IOS6 Map, NOT IOS6 Operating system on the phone, otherwise we all wouldnt be mumbling and grumbing over this whole debacle.

Oct 17, 2012 3:24 PM in response to Shanon.Robertsby justjesper,Ok i have gotten that wrong then, but with all the issues with the ios 6 he should have apologized about rushing this out.
I never even looked at another phone, before this failure by apple, but that has changed, and it has changed for a lot. Think it will be a costly lesson for apple.

Oct 17, 2012 7:07 PM in response to tobifsby Edwin K Torres,I dont have any issues with wifi with my black 32GB iphone 5, But I do notice that it has a hard time connecting to and staing connected to itunes over wifi. I think that is an iOS 6 problem because my 3rd ged iPad does it too, though not as often. As for wifi browseing on either device no complaints here.

Oct 18, 2012 7:27 AM in response to tobifsby brncofan7,Just to note on this thread, finally had an opportunity to upgrade my daughter's iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and we are now having speed issues with her device. Seems from perusing the thread that this has happened to others older devices.
I am still having issues with my replacement device (although it will intermittently work depending on the usage). Biggest issue is streaming video (YouTube, Netflix, etc) and it essentially never caches video. But downloading data from the App or iTunes Store is doing okay. Strange and a little frustrating.

Oct 18, 2012 9:16 AM in response to sweetbridgeby radougherty,I'm sort of surprised that this problem hasn't been picked up by the press like the iPhone 4's antenna issue was.

Oct 18, 2012 10:45 AM in response to tobifsby Lifted,I'm having the same problems with the latest batch of iPhones just arriving this week. I've verified the problem on 2 Verizon iPhones, and noticed the problem when trying to use the mobile hotspot, but verified the problem exists when connected to a wifi access point.
When running speedtest connect to a wifi AP, I get 20Mbs or so down, then it stalls with upload and ends up at .4Mbs or so.
When trying to connect to it for mobile hotspot, 95% of the time you can't even find it, and when the SSID does appear, the signal is weak even when 6 inches away, and usually doesn't allow you to connect to it. Once connected (after many, many tries) it lags and stalls and never gets much over 30kb, and that's once per minute at best. When connected via USB, I get 30MBs down and 20MBs up over 4g.
It's seems to be transmit side of the wifi radio is not working for some reason. Was this the same issue with the first batch of iPhone 5's from last month?

Oct 18, 2012 2:51 PM in response to Liftedby Stephen98026,It has been more than a week since I started having wi-fi problems. I have tried everything, reseting network, resetting phone, turning off cellular, turning off bluetooth, turning wi-fi off and back on again, rebooting the phone, adding new wireless profiles, trying multiple wireless netoworks in our office, opening multiple work tickets w/ our IT dept, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Wi-fi works at home w/out a problem (I have not tested the speed), but it will not connect to my company's wi-fi (WPA2 Enterprise) which was my primary reason for getting it, to replace my company issued Blackberry. I paid for the phone out of my own pocket. First it was the crappy battery life, now it's the non-functioning wi-fi. I'm on my second phone now, same problems. The Sr Service tech that I spoke w/ today suggested three things 1) that I have our IT dept change the SSID of our company's wireless system (which would affect 100's of users), 2) have our IT dept create a special private IP address for just me to use for my iphone, or 3) VPN into wi-fi and.....it got more technical after that and I forget the details. He admitted that it is a problem with either iO6, iphone 5 or both, so they definitely know about it. The Apple store even has a special shipment of replacement phones for just this issue. They are in white, generic ghetto boxes. I'm done messing w/ it and am returning the phone. Apple can't say anything about this publicly because it would bring into question their 'premium branding' image and erode their reputation. I see nothing premium about my iphone 5 and am spreading the word wide and far, to anyone considering an iphone 5 purchase.

Oct 18, 2012 4:13 PM in response to tobifsby Baril27,Hey all, I just called apple care about this problem around an hour ago. Same problem connecting to wifi and having it not work. Also it would just use my data from 4g to browse the Internet. However the apple care guide told me to go Into Settings >General > Reset > Reset network settings. Wait for it to load (it will reboot your phone) then when it turns back on go to Settings > General > Cellular. And turn off cellular data ( to check if wifi is working on its own) then turn wifi on and test. I hope this helps all of you having trouble with this problem.

Oct 18, 2012 5:00 PM in response to tobifsby Hammondjames,Tried all of the suggestions from the above comments. They are all just a temporary solutions.
Apple needs to step up to the plate and fix the wifi dropping issue for the new iOS 6 They
Sure took my money quick for the iPhone 5. I just switched from a droid back
To an iPhone 5 and now I'm wondering why? Not sure what Apples problem is
Maybe it's they lost their visionary Steve Jobs or maybe they need to hire
Google to fix the wifi dropping problem. Come on Apple... WiFi problems....
Really? This is something simple? Or is this bug just a scheme to get folks
Who purchased a new iPhone 5 to spend more money on their cell data? I don't
Understand why my iPad, (2) iPod touches, and my wife's iPhone 4S which are not
Running ios 6, don't have this problem. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure
Out you need an iOS 6 patch. Stop worrying about making junk at record speed and
The your new product that your loyal customers have purchased.

Oct 18, 2012 5:54 PM in response to tobifsby Hammondjames,Just got back from the Verizon wireless store. They claim they
Have been notified by Verizon Corporate that this is a known problem but no fix.
This apparently has been a problem without resolution since the iPhone
5 release but no resolution from apple. Only fix Verizon has at this point
Is a iPhone 5 replacement. So they ordered a new phone although I know
And the Verizon agent knows it will not fix the issue. And I say again!!!!! Come
On Apple, use your resources and FIX THIS!!!!!! I almost feel ripped off!!!

Oct 18, 2012 6:04 PM in response to tobifsby Hammondjames,Sorry all..... One more thing... I'm sure most of you know... But if not...
Go to setting... Cellular... Cellular data and turn it off when on wifi... This will
Keep you from racking up charges on your data plan when you drop off data
And don't realize it. If your set up this way it will remind you to reconnect to wifi
When it drops off and it won't cost you $$$.
