No. You missed the point. The only liars around are people on this board that want to make Apple look bad by making false statements about what their employees have said (frankly, Apple has been doing a fine job of making themselves look bad recently).

The completely lack of reliability in the statements on these boards is one of the reasons that Apple doesn't read them. What would be the point of trying to make sense out of the rubbish that gets posted here?

Comments: Glacially slow download speeds with apps like Dropbox and Evernote.

My last iPad Mini tests were the same, using iOS6.0. It's now wrapped up for a Christmas present, so cannot test with 6.0.2 for a couple of days!

Same results as above using unprotected wifi at my local Apple store.

Anyway, I think that is a true sowtware bug of iOS 6.X that is related with some kind and type of modems/routers. For a proof, even my iPhone 4 had the same issues, and all began with the development of iOS 6.

Stange that this worked. Unless you had mac filtering on and didnt have your iPhone in there. MAC address filtering stops any device from connecting that is not listed in the allowed list. So if its off then any device is allowed.

Not sure what's going on but the 6.0.2 update worked for my iPhone 5 (knocking on wood now).  I can connect to both my Netgear router and Netgear repeater, both on WPA2.  I just hope it holds out.

Ok. Newbie here. Got my first iphone (5) last week after using Android for the past few years. My first iphone experience has not been a good one and I'm extremely disappointed. My router is using WPA2 but whenever i switch my phones wfi on and connect it freezes my router (zyxel NU AP 699E9N) and kicks all other connected devices off. I have installed the 6.0.2 update but still have the same problem. I've tried all of the fixes mentioned here but refuse to change my router to WEP. Spoke to my provider today and will change my phone for a new one on wednesday. I'm a very unhappy NEW apple client.

Updated the OS on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad 3.  My phone connects to my router just fine, but my iPad is a no go.  It will connect to unsecured wifi (but is extremely sluggish and slow), but won't let me connect to my own router.  This is totally ridiculous; I wish I had never updated the OS to begin with.  I'd hate to think Apple is now officially in a backslide.

I just go my iPhone 5, and of course it cannot connect to my WLAN.

Ipad, ipod touch, iPhone4, Android phones, PCs with Win 7, XP, Mac, Linux, etc, etc are all OK. Even my home made electronics can connect.

ONLY iPhone 5 have problem, crap. What is this?!? Apple is now black listed in my book, I cannot accept this.

But unfortunatly I have to use iPhone 5 as it a company phone..  So when is there a fix available??

I had the same problem with my new I5 white, worked quite slow with the home wi-fi. Came through a solution on Apple site, says remove any case or cover, i just tried removing the cover i have had from day one and the trick worked. Wifi runs as fast as on the old I4s. Writing here just for ppl who haven't tried this yet !!

Have had probs with my iPhone 5 (first ever iPhone for me) since I got it recently. Get wireless at work easily with good speeds and never drop the connection. But at home it was different. Dropped all the time... Speed was never too much of an issue though. All other wireless devices (including an iPad on 6.0.1) are fine. I was getting frustrated!

The day before Xmas I started searching through this forum and others, looking for answers. Found lots of interesting stuff, realised how outdated my router was, and discovered a few things about wireless security I needed to know. But NO generalisable, concrete answers. So I left my (outdated) set up as it was except that I changed my SSID (from NETGEAR). Yeah, I know... I'm either lazy or stupid for not doing it sooner, even though there wasn't any other similarly named network within range.

In the two days since I've had no problems. INCONCEIVABLE! The phone connects automatically as soon as I get within range after I've been out; it doesn't drop as soon as auto lock kicks in; it is as fast as any other device I use. In short, it finally works as intended.

So if you want to try a quirky, isolated, ridiculous fix that works (so far) give it a go.
