Guys,

    few important Questions:

    1. for those of you that swapped their Iphone5 at Apple Store

         * do you know the specific model you had before swapping?

         * what is your current model of your swapped Iphone 5 ?

         * what is your current IOS SW VER (after swapping)?

         * what is your current Modem Firmware SW Ver?

    <edited by host>

My iPhone5 is 3 months old.

    Model is MD297B/A

    Modem Firmware Ver. is 3.04.25

    Thank you.

    Hmmm Strange thing...

Never knew that The Host is Editing and deleting some simple info requests as i wrote.....

weird that Apple is so strest if i ask here if there is a method to send email to apple seniors about our WIFI Problem.... it seems that after 260 Pages with 703007 Views 3,887 Replies some senior position from apple Service or customer Care will address this??

instead to delete it.... this is WRONG!!

Never happened with My Dell products or My Samsung Galaxy Products... Customer Care / Serive still need to adress this for the good or bad of it.

Apple - this is the Wrong way to go!

My problem started when updated to 6.1.2, same firmware of you.

My problem is that more than 1 meters away from the WIFI Router or Access Point.

    That'S *****.

    Total Fail Apple.

I think a iOS update could give some extra POWER to iphone wifi antenna. Maybe NOW it's working at 60% POWER. A iOS update could bring back to 100% POWER.

    Ladies & Gentlemen , Boys & Girls ,

There is a very quick fix to all of the problems listed within the 260 pages of this discussion, if you follow these simple instructions there will be no more headaches, stress, upset, anger regarding this totally useless piece of crap that Apple has seen fit to release for sale (iPhone 5/IOS6).

Ok , this is what you need to do :

    1. Cut your losses regarding your iPhone 5 purchase.

    2. Buy yourself a Nokia Lumia 920.

    3. And relax, be happy.

I done this and I can safely say that I wish I'd have done it sooner . Do yourself a favour and go to your nearest phone store and demo this phone , you won't be sorry .

Apple need to be hit hard in the pocket , they're only interested in the money , once they see their once loyal customers buying better products elsewhere they'll soon take notice . You all have the power to change this situation , so do it .

For the record , I've owned every iPhone since they first came on the market , but never again will I own an Apple product !

    Regards .

    Guys,

sorry but it seems that this Thread should get a worldwide overall coverage...

This Iphone5 is and was my first apple product ever.....!

till 3 months ago i had only HTC and / or Samsung Mobile devices - Never had a nightmare like this.

    Apple -

The only thing that is missing here is a proper Customer Care / Service Official Message.

This cant be ignored any more with 703177 Views 3,891 Replies!

I checked the list of discusssions. It is indeed the most popular discussion and it is unbelivable that Apple officials do not pay attention to it! They should recognize what ever fault it is. But it is worldwide spread in significant number of units. Hardware or software problem, what ever it is! Offcially ask us to wait for software update or go to Apple Store for replacement. Apple say something!

May be social network helps better? Share this to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube (make a demo video of weak wi-fi) and etc... Let's see how many views we get. Each will count, each view, like, share is a potential loss for Apple, loss of potential customers. We need to help Apple to wake up.

APPLE has never actively participated here, and probably never will. Rest assured however, that they are monitoring and acting based on input here.

Be sure that someone from Apple is monitoring this Thread...

Look on my previous message up....

Apple Host Edited and deleted some lines from my message,

    Tnx.

Are some of you folks having trouble with the cell connection/power as well as the wifi? My wifi is pathetic, still, and I suspect I am also seeing some trouble connecting to cell signal in places my iPhone 4 had no difficulties. . . .

Are the antenna for the wifi and the cell the same?

  • buxnaapple Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

It's humiliating to walk around a router with iphone 5 while other people are sitting quietly with Samsung and surfing on the net

Finally got my iPhone swapped. New one was on iOS 6.0.2. Installed as a new phone, then upgraded to iOS 6.1.2 and then reinstalled the reserve copy from iCloud. Everything now works as it should.

At first I was convinced that iOS 6.0.2 messed up the wifi on my first iPhone 5. But now I am wondering if it wasn't a hardware problem after all.

It is clear that a lot of iphone 5's have a major 2,4 GHz connectivity issue (apart from some other wifi problems).

Strange thing is that there is so little media coverage of this issue.

I would expect tech blogs to jump on this. But all you find is related to the wifi problems that occured back in September.

Conclusion: get your iPhone swapped. An iPhone 5 that functions as it should is truly a joy!

Good luck to all of you.

My senior Apple support technician has given up on me since I'm on my 3rd iPhone 5 and they won't replace it anymore. So it looks like I'm stuck with my iPhone 5 and its shoddy WiFi :(

By the time Apple fixes these WiFi hardware/software issues in *cough* August, the iPhone 5S will be released and us suckers will pay for the early upgrade like Apple wants us to do. How does that make you feel, cheated?

  • pao2 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Why all of you full of problems on iPhone 5? me its working PERFECTLY, no wifi issues, no disconnects, good push notifications, long battery life, no lags, no etc, no etc, no etc,

  • pao2 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

some are very frustated as if this is the end of the world just for wifi issues only, oh men, what the **** is going on here?

  • JanSKay Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

Well, lucky you. Others, including myself, were not so lucky. If we get the right iPhone replacement we too have good luck and the iPhone works as designed. There's definitely a hardware problem Apple needs to acknowledge and fix.
