Q: iPhone 5 wifi issues

My iPhone 5 connects to wifi networks and remembers them, but receives absolutely zero data through the network. LTE and 3G no problem... Off to the repair shop (after 3 hours of ownership...) or any ideas??

iPhone 5, iOS 6

    I have iphone 4 and iphone 4s iphone 5.

iphone 4 cogia told me not good and that's why my phone was losing coverage,

iphone 4s battery did not last me because I used a lot.

And here I have to update all routers in my city to use my iphone.

    I think it's okay.

And speaking only of the maps is much less serious than this.

Because we play the wifi in our homes that go well with all the other teams. Why is not apple adapting to their consumers?

    ENOUGH

    Because we have food head.

This and other company does not accept.

I admit I was a fan of apple, but my economy and welfare is over.

the only solution I get is 200km me to go to my nearest store.

We sell to get good service and it's all lies and marketing.

Studied as eating only head to people like me.

Today I realized that the technical servcio worthless telling you to update all ruoters which use the iphone.

    Are you crazy

    I get that serious?

Please it's like I buy a lot makes coherent road noise led him to the shop under warranty and I have to say I paved my country not to ring.

As far as we have come to the madness?

Please do something to stop this scam consumers.

Tipical apple answer, do something to accept apple instead of apple fit into others.

Do not think about it what we are doing.

Numbers we have launched a product without testing it thoroughly to avoid losing market compared to other brands.

And we all ran and bought it. I include myself saying that we lost the lead, and with this scam I awakened from my stupidity.

I'm dumb and I feel cheated. It is the third time I try stupid in superior technical service.

When I'm with my mates and see iPhone 5 and tell them I can not connect to wifi because the router is not updated the bar and laugh at my work.

€ 700 and I can not have wifi.

It is the most serious in the history of Apple. But they are giving importance to the maps when there are 20 applications to solve.

    And as I fix this?

I spoke to Rogers, the Canadian carrier, and the acknowledge the problem. They said not widely reported but tech support has been briefed. He said its a hardware issue and are shipping a new phone.

    Keep you posted.

Just signing in to add my name to the list.

iPhone 5 with iOS 6. Wifi won't connect to some networks, often requires restart to connect to others and routinely drops connections on wifi networks it does manage to connect to. It drops wifi networks in a weird way though, it still appears to operate on the network but cannot pull down data.

Also, not sure if its related but have experienced (in the one week I've had the phone) repeated examples of 3G data connections not working either. Phone just spins and spins until I restart.

    Overall, not stoked at all.

Have a similar problem with the iphone 5.  Got full strength wifi (full bars) at home until yesterday.  My wife's iphone 4 had a strong signal on the same network while I only had 1 bar.  Spoke to Apple support who told me to reset network settings.  (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.  Problem solved...for now.  I'll be really annoyed if this is a "thing" with the i5.

I had the same wifi issue. I finally gave in and changed my network from WPA2 security to open. Works flawlessly now. Hopefully this is a software fix Apple comes out with soon. I do not think it's a hardware issue.

You don't have to change to a completely open network.

It works well with WPA-Personal and TKIP too.

Can someone explain?  Speed test with droid4 and iPhone 5 next to each other drops iphone5 download speed by 90 percent while droid is unaffected. Speeds are similar if ip is run by itself

Just to say, my iPhone 5 is also continually dropping wifi. My iPad running iOS 6 is fine, my iPhone 4 is fine but the 5 cannot hold a good connection. Tried resetting wifi channels, even a new router but to no avail. I will try a new handset from my contract provider and if that don't work, I dread to think!

Having major trouble holding on to a wifi signal from a BT Hub 3.0 router on my iPhone 5 (4S runs fine on ios6). I have noticed that it might drop off when data traffic increases (i.e. streaming through an app). Apple really needs to fix this.
