Why I cannot activate cellular data network after updating to iOS 6.0?

Same problem here.

Spent hour on the telephone to Telstra support and found that it is a world wide problem after installing IOS 6.0 on an IPhone 4 that 3G will not access Cellular data. Support said it has happenned to her own IPhone 4.0 and its a world wide problem and has to await a fix from Apple.

Waited on telephone for Apple support but after 30 minutes on hold the phone went dead.

Just have to await the fix.

Sorry Barry but it does effect the 4S, I updated yesterday and am still yet to get ANY kind of 3G data to work again (Telstra).

Everything else appears to work fine including WiFi, but I have no 3G data... I have reset the phone a few times now wiped it completely (starting from new) but still no 3G data. It appears to be an authentication issue wth the Telstra 3G network.

Not sure if anyone else here is experiencing the same issue on other networks?

This will confirm if it is a Telstra issue or Apple issue.

My wife has a 4S and its Cellular Data is working fine.

Tech support said it is a world wide issue with IPhone 4.

Telstra states it's an Apple issue.

Just spent 30 minutes with Apple support. Reset and retored everything and still no joy.

Am on hold to senior advisor now. Phone lines are overloaded 30 min wait.

No you can not go back to a prvious OS.

Contacted senior support and problem has been esculated to apple engineers.

May take a few days they said.

PeerBen, what exactly did you type in under tha APN area?

I have tired a few of the Telstra deafults but to no avail (telstra.wap)

PeerBen I have just tried the following:

- Turn off Cellular Data (and WiFi)

- Tried the following APN settings

telstra.iph

telstra.wap

telstra.internet

- Turn on Cellular Data (leave WiFi off)

Still no 3G data!!!

Its beyond telstra or any provider.

Its an Apple problem and its world wide on IPhone 4

Apple have promised me that will have thier engineers working on it as a priority so nothing we can do till then.

I think.

ok have a new Ipad a few weeks did this update and now poof nothing . have wifi but no Cellular Data seems its all ben wiped out, sat for over 1h came home after update and nothing but says i have full digicel signal in the top courner have looked on net for help nothing has woked and digicel not open now here till monday.lets hope they sort this one soon. anyone else missing info in iPad: Tap Settings > Cellular Data ??????

I didn't know it effected the Ipad as well but sounds like its the same problem.

Still no word back from Apple Engineers on my case number.

Monday is the earliest i have been told (Australia EST) I will hear back from them.

WiFi in house works so only an issue if I am travelling.

I have the first Ipad and IOS 6 doesn't get put on that model so everything is still working fine for me.
