Question about "Blocked Plug-in"

I am trying to log into a secure account of mine and it says "blocked Plug-in". When I click on it, it says adobe flashplayer is out of date. When I do that it appears to download the flashplayer but I still cannot get into the account.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Are your plug-ins enabled?

Safari>preferences>security, click enable plug-ins.

It downloads the Flash INSTALLER, not the plugin. You still have to run it to update Flash. Look in your Downloads folder. Or download it explicitly from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Also note that if your secure account requires Java, you need to enable its plugin as the default behavior nowadays is to have it disabled. Check in Utilities / Java Preferences.
