There is only one model of Retina available at this time...all are the same, Mid-2012.  In the future when there are updates/refreshes that will identify the vintage.

If you have a retina macbook then it is Mid 2012.  All retina macbooks to date are mid 2012.  I do not believe that any are listed as late 2012 yet.

See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132 for how to identify your macbook pro.

I updated the machine to 10.8.2 is it then still necessary to use the EVI Firmware update. Or does the latest update from the appstore include it?

Ok, this is what the support told me. I don't know is this is right but...

If I have done the update over the App-Store to 10.8.2, then it should not be necessary to update the Firmware. SHOULD... :-)

But still I tried and my mac told me that the update is not compatible with my system. It didn't tell me if it is updated or not, but it stopped the update. So I have not the possibility to update. Even I would need it...

What now. Are they right or not?!

And, is there a possibility to check the version I have on my EVI Firmware??

If you click on the apple in the upper left corner of the menu bar, then Software Update that will look at your software installed and what is available from Apple.  If there is a revision to the EFI firmware, it will show you that for download.  If it does not show a revision, then you are fully up to date.  The Mac OS X update should have taken care of that, but go ahead and check Software Update and see if your up to date.

I did that and it shows no update to do. But again, I see the word SHOULD...

Is there a way to be sure. Where can I see my EFI Firmware version?

The reason is, I have still problems with my total Backup to my Time-Capsule (209GB).

As soon it gets to Power-Nap it looses the connection. Over WIFI and over Ethernet.

If Software Update is telling you there are no updates, then you have the latest EFI firmware and there is not another version available.  Any update has been done already.

The Power-nap issue is another issue that other users have been experiencing and is not related to EFI firmware.

If you are having problems with backing up and going to Power-nap, you might try forcing the MBPr to stay awake until  the backup is finished so it does not have a problem with lost connection.

Also, see the knowledge base article on Mountain Lion and Power-Nap, there are users having a lot of trouble with PN working so for now I would just turn it off.
