No Siri on iPad 3

Ok I have installed IOS 6 on to my iPad 3. This IPad 3 is a wifi only device as I do not have a data plan with one of the phone carriers.

After the IOS 6 upgrade I do not see or cannot find SIRI functionality. I have looked in Settings / General and Restrictions. Is SIRI only available foe devices with a data plan? Seems it should work when wifi connected but literature does not say so.

Thanks.

I have the same problem. I saw something about Siri when upgrading, but wasn't paying attention because I didn't know I had an iPad 3 (it is a work machine and I wasn't involved in the buying process and didn't realize the 2 and 3 were so similar. Being a school, I automatically assumed it was a 2 because what school would have the most current technonogy, right?)

I have verified the serial number and it is an iPad 3.

I had the same issue. Did a reboot a couple times, did this, did that, turned around three times and spit. Finally found it ... under your preferences, go to General, then Restrictions. The Siri icon was there under the first group of Allow - and it was set to Off.

Once you get it turned on, you can then see a Siri setting under the main General listing, just under Usage. EDIT: I had to also turn it on there, the icon was in the OFF position.

Thewid, the setup should work as I show above. You may want to do a reboot again, just to be sure your iOS 6 install is working. It will run you through basic iOS 6 feature setup again.

Point is, you see the Siri icon but can't activate it, right? And you did click on "Allow Restrictions"?

Do you also see the Siri option under just the main General settings?

Argghh! This is so hard to troubleshoot without screenshots or the device in my hands. If the Siri icon shows in Location services, it's on your ipad 3. I don't know what else to tell you except to do a backup and restore of an earlier ipad backup you have, then reinstall iOS 6 to see if that helps - then go through what I posted above to activate it. It seems like maybe a step was missed somewhere along the line, but I'm at a total loss at this point. Perhaps someone else can offer something better than I can.
