Passbook cannot connect to iTunes store

Upon updating to iOS 6, Passbook does not work. I get an error stating "cannot connect to iTunes Store". How do I fix it?

iPhone 4S, iOS 6

I found a fix to this somewhere else. I don't know why it works, but it does. If you go to your date/time settings, change it from automatic to manual, then change the year to 2013, when you open the passbook app it will work. After you've opened it successfully, you can go back and change your date back to automatic and the app will work correctly from then on.

I'm having the same issue, Passbook (what a joke) just will not connect to iTunes Store. I have tried all the fixes, reset all settings, the stupid time shifting and date shifting, logging in with alternate ID. Nothing works, guess others like me will just have to wait till Apple iOS team gets their s&*t together and solve this issue in the next update.
