OK, so I am generally not that clued up with IT and this post with prove my point!

I arrived in Dubai to live with my UK iphone, to find it wouldn't work, so.. I found an ad where a guy advertises unlocking phones..

I went along, he unlocked it but when he gave it back to me he told me that he had jail broken it for me! A bit disgruntled, I explained I didn't want that as my ex boyfriend had it so I was aware that Apple are dead against it and that is can cause you problems. He said to unlock a phone you have to have jailbreak it and then charged me an additional 20AED for the pleassure of having something I didn't want or agree too! Being new in the Country and knowing nothing about this stuff, what could I do?

Anyway, I couldn't work out how to remove it so I just left it on there and to be honest, I don't even know how to use it so I stuck the app in a folder of rarely used apps and forgot I even had it!

I have just tried to update my 3gs from ios 5.1.1 to 6.0 , I did not know that you shouldn't upgrade a jailbroken iphone. Itunes completed the upgrade and restored it to factory settings. When it finished the restore it asked me for language, region, choose a network. I did all of these then it went to the activating your iphone screen and then it says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try Connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes" Oh and in the upper left corner where the signal bars should be and where it should say AT&T it says "No Service" Then when I try doing it via iTunes like it recommends, I click on the iPhone tab and it just says "Ther is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate. Please disconnect and insert a SIM in the iPhone."\

Please please please... I only have a few weeks to go until I get the iphone 5 that most certainly will never be jail broken!!

Is there a way I revert back to my 5.1.1?????

PLEASE help... thank you 🙂
