Can't export Mail photo-Attachement to iPhoto after update 10.8.2

I'm having the same problem. I'm running Mail 6.1, iPhoto 9.4 & OSX 10.8.2.

This just started either after a new version of iphoto or or the latest Moutain Lion update.

Same here. Before the latest Mountain Lion update to 10.8.2 and the iPhoto update to 9.4, everything worked as it was supposed to: In Mail, I'd select Save to iPhoto. iPhoto would open and the attaced picture would be added to the iPhoto library. Since the update, however, when I select Save to iPhoto, nothing happens: iPhoto doesn't open and, even if it's already open, nothing gets saved.

I have exactly the same problem , i spoke to apple support and was told to reinstall mountain lion update which i did and still not working, i had the apple support to carry out a remote save of my system to find out the cause of this problem and said they will be back in touch with me in a couple of days ? also i now have no trash sound and my time and date was completely wrong ,all this since the mountain lion and iphoto update not impressed ,hopefully when apple get back in touch with me they will have it sorted.

Whilst waiting for a reply from apple i have found that you can actually click and drag the photo direct to your iphoto icon on your desktop ,hope this is of some help to you in the mean time .

Once they update for IPHOTO 9.4 came out I cannot export files out of IPHOTO to folders outside of IPHOTO. Then installed 10.8.2 and still the same. It's the IPHOTO 9.4 update that is the problem. Sent several reports to Apple and waiting to hear. At least I feel better that I am not the only one with this problem.

Just want to add to the bug list, as I have the same problem. When I right click a photo in Mail and choose Save to iPhoto, nothing happens.

I just talked with the 800 APL CARE iPhot team. This "a known issue" and they are working on the fix. Nothing to do but use the work arounds until the fix it.

Honestly, I'm impressed that they respond at all. Much preferred versus the silence of a team that doesn't care or doesn't exist!

Actually they were very attentive and listened and worked with me. I called the Mail group who tried to identify the issue and then transferred me to the iPhoto team who quicklly acknowledged the issue. No run around and much appreciated honesty. Hey stuff happens. Just admit it and don't try to blame it on the customer. They were great.

New update for iPhoto this morning. 9.4.1 It looks like it might fix this issue.

Agree. Did not fix it. Interesting. When I clicked on the Export to iPhoto it opened iPhoto 9.4.1 but did not exprt the photo in iPhoto. Previously it didn't even open iPhoto. Progress like the turtle I guess.

You would think but nope, waited patiently for iphoto 9.4.1 to fix this bug. i fully understand bugs happen but update still does not fix this massive problem. When you click save on a image - add to iphoto no longer works on emails containing picture attachments you want to export to iphoto.

Mountain Lion been big disappointment sorry but since SJ passing "It just works" increasing does not.

Quality control of Microsoft. Massive quarter today know doubt $ wise but come on guys !!
