That should not affect it. If it was legitimately unlocked, it should be OK.

That said, did 3 submit an unlock request to Apple and did you then restore the phone using iTunes to unlock it, or did someone unlock it for you in a shop?

If someone unlocked it for you in a shop, it was hacked...

If it was legitimately unlocked, it's possible the SIM failed during the update process. It's rare, but it does happen sometimes.

Hi 3 unlocked over a phone call. Never visited a 3 store.

No idea what this means. They can not unlock your iPhone "over a phone call". You can call and ask them to unlock it, but the actual unlock is performed by plugging it into your computer and restoring the phone with iTunes. This results in a message that says "Congratulations! Your iPhone is Unlocked" (or words to that effect).

If that's not how it was done, then it was hacked and we can NOT help you.

It was a legitimate unlock if 3 did it over the phone. They will send the request to apple and then when you plug it in to iTunes you'll get the "congrats your phone is unlocked message". I'm having the same problem with an iPhone 4 that has always been on an o2 iPhone contract. o2 have issued a new sim but its still alternating between no sim and invalid sim. I'm just trying a restore from iTunes and will let you know how i get on. Tried re-setting network setting and a general reset to no avail.

Right......

After a restore no joy. Its my girlfriends phone and its one of the original iPhone 4's. My iphone was bought a little later and my sim card works in her phone. So to me it looks like there maybe a few original sim cards that don't seem to be recognised with ios 6. I'm now off to the O2 store to get a new micro sim and o2 will export the setting across. I'll let you know if works later on. :{

Hey Folks,

I have a iPhone 4s and about a month ago upgraded it to iOS 6. Since then I've been having problems where my phone says "Invaild Sim" and I had to reboot it to fix the error. This has been happening very frequently now a days and is very annoying. I live in India and my sim belongs to a carrier "Idea" here. I bought the phone in India from an Apple store, so its a factory unlocked phone. Could some one help me??
