random "Boot OS X" partition showing up in my boot options in my mac pro
Hello everyone.
I have a 2010 Mac Pro 2.8 Quad. After updating to OS X 10.8.2 yesterday I noticed something weird upon boot when holding down "option"
------------
I have 3 Bootable Drives on the machine:
1st. OS X mountain lion - Primary
2nd. OS X snow leopard - for some old ppc apps running through rosetta
3rd. Windows 7 - games
------------
I'm aware that when I hold option to boot into a specific partition my 1st. OS X mountain lion has a "recovery" partition as well giving me 4 bootable partitions all together.
after the 10.8.2 update I'm getting a 5th partition labeled "Boot OS X" If I go ahead and click that it actually boots form my 1st. OS X mountain lion partition.
------------
Now this has not in any way caused my machine to misbehave. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to their computer after the update.
I don't understand the purpose of this redundancy. so my 1st. OS X mountain lion - Primary partition is showing up in the boot options twice.
------------
on the other hand my macbook air did not do this after the update.
Please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
